I wrote the following few paragraphs when I first started researching my tree. They are as true today as they were back then. However, If there's one thing that has shown to be more important than anything else it's teamwork!! No one person can document all the information that needs to be made public. That's why the edit tab at the top of your profile page is so important. Please give a look at that list of entries as often as possible. As you process the entries, visiting the memorial pages and comparing them to your own work is crucial and informative. You'll find family members that you were never able to find before, because now, they've been linked. Genealogy is not fiction, its facts. Facts about every person listed. Check it out, you never know what may have been added since your last visit.|
As far as genealogy is concerned, I guess I'm a "newbie" started in 2005. My mother died in April, my step father died in July, and my sister died in October all in 2005. It finally dawned on me that all my history was gone. I've found some great people out there willing to help me to put my "tree" together. I want to give back as much as I've gotten. I take pictures of headstones in cemeteries that I visit and intend to do more. I want to share those photos with anyone who wants to use them.
If I've input some of your family and they are not relatives of mine, I'll gladly transfer them to you. Please use the edit tab on the memorial page to make your suggestions and add your links. The common courtesy of asking for changes and links instead of demanding is appreciated.
I can't stress enough the importance of the edits tab. The edit tab contains a list of corrections or additions that someone else has found for established memorials. Please look at this tab and process the ones listed for you. This is one of best "team" projects for genealogy. Let's all contribute the little pieces of information that everyone else may not have. IT'S ALL IMPORTANT.

I am excited but confused about the dates you posted in the memorial of my great grandmother Martha A. Brown. Purdy Cemetery Barry County, Missouri. Can you tell me where you found the dates? I cannot read the stone and I was told by the city clerk there was no listing of her in any death certificates. She has been a ten year brick wall for me!!!!
Bios are meant to be about the life of the person memorialized, not detailed information about the tragic circumstances of death.

Thank you Dana! I've done some spot checks and there are quite a few Plot Purchasers who do not show-up yet on Find-a-Grave. hereis an example of one who did and I'm quite familiar with his mausoleum...

Thank you very much for the information. It has been added.

I am so sorry that I didn't put enough info on my request to list her as Paul Revere Sheilds, Sr. wife. She does not seem to be on Find A Grave unless she remarried & I have not found out her remarried name. I do not know where she is buried though it must not be in the same cemetery as her husband. So I didn't use the edit feature for spouse.
Vivian Lucile Mahan was the daughter of John Crittendan Mahan (1867-1934)and Arabella "Belle" Dunlap Arthur (1868-1959). I have checked Find A Grave photos on her parents to see if she might be buried with them but does not appear so. Vivian was born Aug 26, 1896 in Whitley and died Oct 26, 1975 in Lexington. I saw your note on her husbands entry that said he was buried in the MAHAN lot & that is why I had wanted her listed as his wife. They were married June 12, 1918. Thanks for your help
