|Bio and Links|
If I list someone you are related to, send me a note using the "EDIT tab," and I will transfer the page to you if I am not also a descendant. I will always follow Find A Grave guidelines and transfer within the generations stated. I usually go beyond this and will transfer older generations, if I am not also a descendant. However, if I have already completed extensive research on the person in question, by adding links, a biography etc, there is no need for a transfer. I myself use the great Find A Grave feature: Virtual Cemeteries. This is a wonderful way to keep track of family graves managed by others. |
I am happy to add additional sourced information to memorials and also happy to correct any errors I may have made. Please use the EDIT tab for corrections if you find an error in my research or if you wish to add information [I will give you credit by linking your profile page from the added info in the bio].
When you use the EDIT tab I am sent an email with a link to the memorial. This prevents confusion about which memorial is referenced.
Here is a great website for calculating the birth date from stones that list only death date and age at death. Or try this one.
THIS IS A CEMETERY
Lives are commemorated, deaths are recorded, families are reunited, memories are made tangible and love is undisguised. This is a cemetery.
Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life; not death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering, always.

I previously gave you some info about Catherine Greer Boyer, but I must have left off one important fact. Her father was not Shadrack Marshal Greear. He was her uncle. Catherine's father was John Greer. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the location of his grave. He was probably living in Ashe County, NC when he died.
If you would please remove Shadrack as her father, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks, Shari, for adding the bio. I can't imagine being a young mother losing a husband and bread winner so far from home as a result of him being caught out in the rain on a summer afternoon, but such things were all too common in rural areas in the days before antibiotics and other medical treatments we take for granted today . Very sad for her and their children.
Have a great day!

The edit request is still "live" in your inbasket.... check the "edits tab" on your profile page. If you haven't seen this before, its great.... you can process all your edits with one click! (This was a new enhancement sometime last year)

I think I sent a follow up note to you with the correct parents, and I sent through an edit accordingly. The source was a few pages later than the other Christopher in Groton Avery Clan.

I believe that i followed a line back to the Margaret Johnstone and Peter Bull's graves (through Ancestry) and didn't understand how this worked ..There are obviously 2 Margaret Johnstone's and mine has been mixed up with Peter Bull when in fact Mine married a Joseph Habkirk and is buried in Ontario.
I followed Margaret on Ancestry and even though someone has a Margaret Johnstone they have one born in the wrong location married to the wrong husband attached to my family and I was looking for where they got the information. I realize know that this is not something that you would know about.
Once again I am sorry if this has cause you concern.

Thank you for the information you have posted about the Warfields. I am having a problem getting page one of Richard Warfield's 1619 will. Browser locks up. No problem with page 2 or any of the other photos you posted. Can you help? thanks!
|Melinda Trayer Nobles||Robert Irvine|
Hi I have been working on Irvine history. I have sources in my possession that list Gen. Wm.'s children, but Robert is not listed. I have some Parkinson sources, but none with Robert. Can you give me info and sources on him so I can add it to my records?
