Five years ago my husband got addicted to genealogy. |
He started Civil War Re-enacting along with our son. They wanted to join Sons of the Confederate. You have to prove you are related to a Confederate soldier. So, he started researching and found he was related to Brig. General Holtzclaw.
After 2 years of hearing about his uncle and other family members, I decided to just check, real quick, and see what family members I had that were also in the Civil War.
And that folks, is how we got started doing genealogy.
This is now one of my favorite sites.
I try to always be polite and to say "Thank You" to all who have help me by putting my families grave information, pictures of their headstones and other information you have on them. I appreciate the people who have transferred my relatives to me.
As I do this, I know it takes a lot of time to physically go out, research and find the records, go to the sites, take the pictures, put them onto FAG. It also takes time to transfer Memorials.
If I have ever forgotten anyone, then "THANK YOU!!!!"
Please know that I only transfer to family members. There are those who just want to add to their numbers and aren't really serious about taking care of the memorials. If you are related then I have no problem transferring the memorial if I'm not related to the person.
ATTENTION: If you would like to have a person transferred to you, PLEASE go to their page and click on the EDIT button and request the transfer. Thank You!

Just made my 3rd request to have Earl linked w/his father. Wondering if I am doing something wrong that you have been unable to comply with my request. Here's a copy of the original request sent via Earl's memorial page: Please link to father George Lester Shilts #35866110 Thanks, Judy

Thank you for your message about this cemetery. I was visiting my Aunt and visited the Hillside Cemetery where her daughter (my cousin) and her 1st & 2nd. husbands are buried. I took a few pictures at that time. I am glad to hear that you have pictures for the many graves that do not have them since I live 250 miles south in Nevada and can't visit that area often. Keep up the good work.
My husband's grandparents are Lula Ann Grimes b.1889 and James Franklin Cunningham b.1881.
His father was J.C. or I.C b. 3/1855. His mother is Mary b. 1/1871. J.C. had at least 8 children.
Two by the first wife and six by Mary.
In His Name,
I don't have the names. J is probably for James. The C. could be Clyde, Carlton, or Carl.
I am looking for I.C. or J.C. & Mary E. Cunningham listed on the 1900 Census in Ellis County. They had 8 children.
Are you related to the Cunninghams?
In appreciation for any help you can give.
Thanks, Maredia 47027498
I love the picture of your Sammy, I have one also.

|Eugene Gordon||RE: Martha Gordon Carmichael|
Thanks alot for linking Martha (Gordon) Carmichael with her father Irvin; that was my primary interest. Please keep her memorial. Irvin was the son of William who emigrated with brother Sam from County Down Ireland in 1789. I am not a direct descendent from Martha but from her brother John Newton. Thanks Kat.
All the Best Eugene Gordon
