Thank you for the Memorial on my 9th Great grandfather.
MaryRuth Pope Ormsbee
"I am a Halsey but it appears that Mary V. Halsey had 3 children after Grimsley died in 1892. My father and others have confirmed this but the father of the 3 has not been identified conclusively. The only info I have is that his last name was Anderson."
" Grimsley Halsey was murdered by Edward J. Cox and Fields Anderson in January of 1892. You can google Grimsley Halsey and a Virginia court record will come up. I am researching my family history and am aware that my great grandfather was Blaine Halsey - born in 1985. Obviously, he was not the son of Grimsley. Their was a rumor that his father was an Anderson. Hope this helps."

one child born years after father's death could be gravestone error..but two makes me think they were from another father. I will look into it for you. Vena married my 1st cousin x removed.

Thanks for the info. I usually don't add memorials for these markers with no death date, but I obviously missed this one. I have requested the memorial be deleted, so that should happen soon. May Eileen live long and prosper.
I was wondering if you could email me? I have some questions on like how you're related to the Dowell family.
I would appreciate it.

Hoping you will contact me. Your mother and my grandmother, Ruth, were sisters. The family has been concerned about your mother's health and I am hoping to find out information from you.
Please feel free to email, phone, or contact me on Face Book.
Thank you so very much,
Jane McGrannahan Miller
