Bio Photo Hello, I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date my dad and I have visited over 1,800 cemeteries and have found the gravesites of over 35,500 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 8,000 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the gravesites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the gravesites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any gravesites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.

RE: Harry Irwin Bowen
He is son of Joseph Hamilton Bowen (1856-1932) & Martha Lucretia Mumaw (1862-1948)and he was my grandpa's second cousin. I have that he died Oct 1, 1917 in Wayne Twp, Kosciusko Co, IN. This is from ancestry.com records and their source in Kosciusko Co health dept. This makes it sound like he died at home, not in war. Also, on his WWI draft card dated June 5, 1917 Harry lists that he has previous miliary experience - Corporal, Inf, one year, State Militia of Ind. Could the inscription on his tombstone of Ind Corpl 3 Ind Inf N.G. be referring to this previous service?

RE: Rollins Harris
Eric,
I noticed that Rollins was in the Indiana Infantry. Was he killed in the Civil War?
Remember, I have all the graves photographed so if you decide on another memorial page, I have the photography done.

Hi Eric,

I live in Dinwiddie County, the middle of the surge on Petersburg. I have read everything I can get my hands about the Civil War (not an expert). Two of my great grandfathers were in these battles.

I haven't heard of the above. Do you have any other info about it's location? I would love to do your request.

Thanks,

Goldeneagle

Thanks so much Eric. I certainly will give you credit.

I like your profile picture. Is he a relative of yours?

Thanks again,
Susie

Hey Eric,

Wow you are one busy man. That's so special that you and your dad can do this together. Thank you for serving our servicemen.

You took a photo of the Union Cemetery in Indiana and I have folks buried there. May I copy that picture of the cemetery and add it to my ancestry.com tree? Pictures bring life to the tree.

May I also have permission to copy any other photo/info you have on this site? I will certainly give you credit if you request.

You've worked long and hard and it's appreciated by all. Its like my family history. I work so hard on it, but I love it so much its not work at all. You are appreciated by many and we all thank you.

Susie

RE; WM BLIZZARD
Hi Eric, I have just come from the Keokuk Natl Cemetery and neither online nor in person do they have a record of WM Blizzard. Are you sure this is where he is buried? I did find Joshua West. Photos to follow on a day when it is not raining, which seems never here.

Happy to help,
Sue Steenberg-McDeid

Memphis National Cemetery
I have searched the Memphis National Cemetery for Abraham Voltz. There is no headstone for this man there. If he is buried there he lays under a headstone marked unknown. If you like I can put a photo of an unknown U. S. Soldier headstone on his memorial. Please let me known if that is what you wish.

Semper Fi,
Bruce Linz

John T Miller France cemetery
Sorry the picture wasn't that great. The stone had fallen over some time ago it seems, and was kinda sunken into the ground.
