These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They may or may not sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead. |

In the end, never let yourself become complacent to those who have went before us. Always make time to remember the sacrifices that have been made for us by our Ancestors.
Never forget the Men and Women of our Armed Forces who have guarded our Constitution with their lives, some giving all to secure our rights, liberties and freedoms.
Remember the 100's of thousands soldiers who never came home, many who lie in a unmarked graves, never found or a foreign cemetery as that would indeed make those lives,, lost in vein... Reach out,, honor a Veteran.
Allow us not to embrace any politician. aristocrat, celebrity, who in the name of change, forgets or attempts to direct us to think otherwise..
A Nation which forgets its Defenders,
will itself be forgotten ..

I always place the source for obituaries (I create bios from the info found in obit) at the bottom of the bio. In this case, Premier Funeral Services. I checked his obit again. Sure enough, services with military honors was held at Utah State Veterans Memorial Park. Perhaps he was not buried there after the service...but that would make it the first service held at a cemetery that was not also buried there in all the memorials I've created so far. Time will tell. Until then, I will remove his memorial from that cemetery. Thanks.

The above person is related to me via my 2 x great grand aunt, Emma Cobb, whom he married in 1877.
I would be grateful if you would allow me to use the photo of their gravestone.
You will be credited as the owner of the image.

Thanks so much for your timely response for my request for the headstone for Jerry Bishop. I guess the timeframe is too quick to have the actual headstone placed. I will make an additional requestt in a couple of months, hoping by then it will be.
Blessings to you Michael,

Thank you for the heads up, Mike! While the obituary places him at UVMP, a search shows he's actually interred at Ogden City Cemetery. I'd never have known, so thank you!
|Annie Duckett Hundley||Thank you|
Beautiful headstone photos as always. I really appreciate your thorough work and dedication to our veterans that have passed on. The details you share in the photo captions honors them so well and add so much to their memorials. I just want to say thanks once again.
