I live in Chesapeake, Virginia and am a Civil War history buff and a lover of old cemeteries. I love to travel around Virginia with my Labrador Retrievers, enjoy the solitude and taking pictures of the battlefields. |
As far as the memorials that I post, most of them are not family members of mine but rather memorials that I found to be really impressive when I was strolling though a cemetery or family members of photo requests that I fulfilled who didn't already have a memorial established. If you would like me to transfer any of them, please let me know.
Anyone who wishes to use any of my photographs for non-commercial purposes has my permission. Also, if I have posted a memorial of a relative that you object to, please notify me and I will remove it.
Many thanks to all of you who have shared stories of your family with me. Every day that I volunteer is a history lesson for me and I cherish the many stories that you have shared.

Yea, funny how names evolve over the lifespan of a person. It'd be interesting to know what her parents actually intended.

Thanks so very much for finding and photographing the grave site of William C Etheridge in Suffolk at Cypress Chapel Cemetery. I had been searching for several years for my great uncle's grave in Portsmouth with no success; since he lived his whole life in Portsmouth. I did not realize he was buried with his second wife's family at Cypress Chapel. It's so good to just know!
Thanks again for your valuable contributions to preserving the memories!

The photo was wonderful, thanks. I have wished many times that I took trimmers and a whisk broom when trying to fulfill photo requests.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to photograph the Knight's headstones. I really appreciate it! Kenneth

Thanks much for taking the photo of Mr. Hollowell's grave marker. He was a neighbor who saved me from an almost certain death during my childhood.

That would be terrific. Thanks again.
