Bio Photo I am a 25 year veteran of the US Military. My family came over on the Mayflower and has served this country since the first Militia was formed in Massachusetts in 1636. My 10th Great Grandfather, Jonathan Brewster was the Procurement Officer and my Uncle Love Brewster was a Private. My family fought in the Revolution, the war of 1812, the Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and I served through Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Family names I'm looking for:

Benson Lear
Anderson Carr/Kerr
Sigerpalm Snyder
Cutler Brown
Whiting Schooley
Sherman Burdick
Wright Davis
Brewster

If you find an unmarked veteran grave, please forward all information you have so I can possibly have a headstone placed through the VA. I am the Camp Commander and Graves Registration Officer for the Col Edward D Baker Camp, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, part of a National organization, one of our goals is to have all veterans graves marked!

God bless the USA and the Men and Women that have and continue to defend her!

Any progress on raising Lt. Cady's stone? I led some Metro employees to the site last fall, but haven't seen any activity

Thanks for developing the memorials for William & John Wesley Scrivner. They were my second great grand uncles serving in the 4th Ky Mtd Infantry. Thank You.

RE: John Kanada Sterling
Don,

It's been about 3 years since I worked on this memorial, but I checked back through my files and located the name of the person who was in charge of the cemetery records at that time. Her name is Ernestine Hipp; she takes care of the Cemetery records for the Crawfordsville Union Cemetery Association. Her phone number at that time was 541-367-2358. The current manager of John's memorial, Bruce Taylor, told me that another relative was working on getting John a gravestone, but that hasn't happened yet.

The latest information that I have received concerning the placement of gravestones by the VA is that the process must be initiated by a "relative." They seem to be willing to stretch that a little, but not too much. I was able to get them to create a stone for my great uncle Ellis Bartrow (# 27739861), but we had to cover the cost for a contractor to actually install it at the gravesite (about $200).

If you have some connections whereby you can get stones placed for old vets like this, I have run across a couple others in my research (not related to me) that should also be recognized for their honorable service to their country. I would be glad to send you their names & Find a Grave data.

Thanks for your work on this, and have a great day!

Don

It's nice to meet another relative. Who were your grandparents/great-grandparents?

Don
Wayne and Wava are with the Lear family next to Sadie and Rex Lear. Mt. Hope, Springview NE.

Does this help?

Would you like me to continue to send you information regarding the Carr, Lear, Snyder families?

Thanks again.

Don, I photographed Sophia Frakes headstone for you. It looks like William's name is there & date of birth but no date of death. Don't know if he's there or not. Bonnie Lopez
