I've been one of my family's "historians" for over 10 years, researching our family trees, and I totally enjoy it. |
Taking photographs of headstones and submitting cemetery information is such vital work, because it helps people locate their loved ones. The headstone photograph helps to document it, since many times these precious artifacts are vandalized or damaged by weather and age. I find great joy in helping others find their family members.
I have been in process of transcribing all the cemeteries in Jim Wells County, TX since 2004. Every so often, I'll do some in San Patricio and Nueces Counties.
Please note that I photograph & transcribe entire cemeteries & do not catch duplicates until I'm ready to upload photos. So if you spot a duplicate, then click the "Edit" button at the memorial & let me know about it. Thanks!
Please click the "Edit" button at the memorial to notify me of any corrections, additions, adding relationship links or to request transfers. This process will work quicker & better than emailing me or leaving a message here
I love uniting the memorials I've created with their family.

Hi, Charlie - I have sent edits for Zebulum Smith (#42139870). His birth place is derived from both his death certificate and World War II Draft Registration card.
Thank you for all you do.

|Irma (Salinas) Holtkamp||Eliseo Garcia (Find A Grave Memorial# 11635323)|
You have incorrectly assumed that Eliseo Garcia (Find A Grave Memorial# 11635323) was the son of Virginia G Garcia (Find A Grave Memorial# 11635311). Eliseo was Virginia's younger brother NOT her adopted son. Eliseo's parents were Agustin/Augustin Garcia and Julia Reyes (sometimes listed as Julia Mata).
Eliseo was married to Berta Trevino (Find A Grave Memorial# 11635325). Please see his death certificate attached to my family tree at Ancestry.com - http://person.ancestry.com/tree/1600688/person/-1912892974/facts
Thank you and I hope you will make the correction as indicated above.

I've admired your diligence in building out family histories and memorials in South Texas, where Mother grew up - Myrtle A Baker 1909-1998. Alexander grandparents are in Sandia graveyard, where I got to poke around again recently.
I'm submitting edit suggestions from Ancestry Tree TexasBakers. Honoring Mother's birthday, we visited Bakers and friends in Houston's Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, adding photos, connections and memorials for family of Gladys McKinney Foret, Mother's lifelong friend.
I'd like to find a book on South Texas ranchers, like those in the Wade, McNeill and Gallagher cemeteries. ---Mildred Baker Beaman

I am looking for memorials of Minerva Ann Gilbert Harris (1842-1908) and her husband Giles Harris (1839-1877).
Minerva was daughter of Edward Gilbert (1808 - 1881) and Alletha Elizabeth Pugh Gilbert (1813-1880).
They are listed as buried in Pleasant Hill on
Familysearch.org but I cannot find verification.
Thanks for all your work at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery!

RE: Henry J. Dahse, Memorial# 18073730
Merline S. Dahse, Memorial# 18073708
Both in Orange Grove's Sons of Hermann Cemetery.
I sent you a personal e-mail regarding the above two memorials, but not until after I sent it did I find that your e-mail address listed on your profile is no longer active.
Anyway, on a recent visit to South Texas and to the Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, I took a photo of the headstone of Henry and Merline Dahse that now shows Henry's date of death. While the two memorials that you created have photos of the headstone before Henry's death, I went ahead and added the new photos. It will be your decision which photos you want to retain. I also added close-up photos showing Henry's and Merline's dates of birth and death.
Thank you for all the work you do in the cemeteries of Jim Wells and San Patricio Counties. My wife has family members buried in both counties, and her parents are buried in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery. My parents are buried in Alice Fraternal Cemetery.
