Chesley Dew . No, i do not live down there. but grew up there, went to school at South Riley school on Chadwick Road and high school in Dewitt.my family lived and owned a farm on Chadwick road . owned some the land and But Owned the swamp that belong to Chesley Dew .The land and Nigger Dew swamp are on the south side of Chadwick Road. My brother use to hunt and trap back in nigger Dew swamp. someone told him there was quicksand back in the swamp so he never went to deep into it . The swamp is off Francis road going west on Chadwick road about a quarter mile down on the south side back in the woods there, that swamp goes on to another farm .I have seen Chesley Dew`s Cem Marker and it is a nice Marker for it`s age .it is to the back part of Cem. A few years ago kids went in and broke off a lot of the lime stone Markers near the front of Cem . that was terrible . they repaired the Marker but it is not good. As for the Barn that Chesley Dew owned and was hung in .it was standing but that has been years ago in the early 2000`s since we have been down in that area. the Barn was or is on the North side of Chadwick road. going West. Big old Barn also there was a foundation of stone where a house once stood . if you walked in and looked for that. Parkhouse owned that land where the barn stood when i was a kid . the Barn could be torn down by now and people build . Little History from my Brother and me , Take Care Vicky
Chesley Dew . I am so glad you put the murder of him on line, Chesley Dew owned about 40 acres on the corner of Francis and Chadwick Road Riley Twp and there is a swamp on that land that was called Nigger Dew. in the early 1950`s old timers knew it by that name . my father and Grandfather called it that when i was young . Thank you again since this story is now told . vicky
Agnes Vizzini Hi Cheryl, I may be able to help you with some information on Agnes if you are still looking.
I have been trying to find the trail of her oldest sister, Georgianna, who married into my Griffeth family, and have had to resort to doing the whole family to see if I can find out what happened to her, which is what led me to your memorial page for Agnes.
The family surname was recorded two ways in the documents; Ellery or Allarie, along with many other minute variations but those two seem to be the most commonly used. Agnes was the sixth child of Victor Allarie/Ellery and Georgianna (Jennie) Dupont.

Chesley Dew Hi Cheryl, Thank you for the story on him. That's not the way I heard it as more like the story of Joseph Son of Jacob and Rachel in the Bible Genesis 39: 6-20. I am so glade that story of Chesley was wrong.
