Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestowne Society, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the National Huguenot Society, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. I just love researching family histories. I taught Jr. High English in the public schools for fourteen years. I was an Elementary Counselor and a librarian for fifteen years.

I would love your contributions to the pages I've added. I especially want pictures of the people I have listed here. I am taking pictures of all the tombstones in my area in order to preserve family histories for future generations, especially those who wish to join DAR and other societies. I want to honor these people and truly wish for them to be "Gone but Not Forgotten." I want to create a page for each person with pictures and biographical information. My DAR webpage is at www.mssdar.org/noahcole.

Thanks for the transfer. I only got to meet my Aunt once and that was while she was still living in Missouri on her farm. She was a colorful lady and one that I respected a lot. She and my Dad (her brother) once went on a "blind date" that friends had set up not realizing that they were brother and sister as they were raised by two separate families, McClish and Solomon. My dad told the story many times and said that they had the most fun because they knew they were siblings but their friends didn't.

Herbert and Noah Vestal
Thank you for the information on Herbert and Noah Vestal. My grandmother was their sister(Bessie). With all of the older generations of my family gone this is about the only way I have to trace this side of my family. Thank you again and also thanks for the obits you posted.

RE: Elizabeth Walker
No the cousin I mentioned is Barbara Liedtke. She lives in Colorado and is the granddaughter of my father's (Raymond Emerson Walker 1895-1971) youngest sister Roxie Anne Walker Clark. My father is a son of John Wesley Walker and Nancy Ann Callahan. John Wesley Walker is Elizabeth's son. I will try to help you in any way I can. I received an email from Lillian from Licking but I don't know her but will be glad to help her too if I can. Thanks.

She is my great grandmother. I have a little info on her and so does a cousin of mine. I am having eye surgery Feb.20 and as soon as I am over that I will see what I can find that might help you.

Merrell Cemetery
Hi Linda,
I am very interested in the Merrell cemetery at Slab Town in Texas County Mo. It is located about half way between Licking and Success. My great great great grandparents Alfred and Margaret Merrell were among the first people burried there. I would love to be notified of any up dates on the clean up of the cemetery. Thank you so much for any information you have.

RE: Merrell Cemetery
Hi Linda,

Nice to hear from you. I am excited that the Merrell Cementary is finally getting restored to a respectable condition! Can you please keep me posted on the clean up efforts. If there is enough of a notice perhaps I can help out.
Thanks again, kmartin92553@live.com

Merrill Cemetery
Hi Linda,

We have spoke in the past. I made a visit to the Merril cemetery a few years back only to discover it was more like a jungle. I was wondering if is in any better shape? I hope to revisit the cemetery during the months before the weeds overtake it once more. I know it holds some secrets from my family lineage. We used to live in Lenox, down the road from you.

Karen
