Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Tech Lab teacher in middle school.
I enjoy genealogy and creating photo album pages of grandkids. I especially enjoy taking pictures of headstones. Cemeteries are lovely, peaceful and quiet.

PLEASE use the edit button to request transfers and make changes/additions to memorials.
Thank you.

Also, since I take a large number of cemstone photos, it is time prohibitive to clean them, especially the older ones, before taking a pic. I will be glad to retake any photos upon request.

AND, I would really appreciate any email communication to include the memorial numbers of the person(s) to whom you are referring. It is so time consuming (and open to error) to find names using the search tool.

RE: Elise Scheele

I probably wrote to you sooner than I should have.

I'll scan the Elise (Meyer) Scheele page from the Johann Meyer Family history book which explains the relationships and send it to you. Everything looks fine to me at this time on Find A Grave.

By the way, their home was only 1/8 of a mile west of the church.

Thanks for looking this over,

Caroline Head Axe #95883337
Hi Mae,
I see you've done some extensive research into Henry and Caroline Head Axe and was wondering if you were related. I descend from Caroline's brother, Jesse, and have a few old Xeroxed copies (barely legible) written by my 2x great grandmother. I also have digital copies of photos from Kansas that are unidentified. Are you in touch with someone who could help with the identifications? Feel free to email me at Thank you for your time and great efforts you're adding to this site.

Homer Potts
Memorial #84188849

I am trying to find information as to Homer Potts. He is buried near my Great Grand Parents, John W. & Jennie L. Potts, with a similar marker/stone. My Grandfather, Harry G. Rediker had made the stones for John W & Jennie L. Potts, as well as William LeRoy Potts, which signals me to believe Homer is somehow related. I have called the curator of the cemetery, and he does not have any information on the Homer Potts grave. His death/burial was before the cemetery kept records. If you have any information regarding Homer Potts, please contact me.

Helen Lynch Vering
I see where you posted a picture of her and I am in need of info/picture of her sister Kathryn Joyce Lynch Coffman. She was married to my uncle Clarence S Coffman in 1940 in Manhattan, Ks. I am trying to find out why she is buried in Nebraska under the name Lynch and not Coffman.
Please can you help?

RE: Johnathan Weaver son of Benjamin
Thanks...I am so surprised how many J. Weavers were in the area; and the family names were passed on in each it is hard to pinpoint just who J.M. Weaver was....could even be a female teacher in the background, but the man stands out in the back. Thanks so much, I will keep chipping away at it. Peggy Failla

Elmer Munsterman
Thank you for the edit! We just took a Munsterman relative of ours to the airport this morning, as it happens!

How do you know this was Elmer's birth place?
If it came from a family Bible, that is fine--if you have another source, and can send me a link, that is even better :)

I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes!

RE: Koenig children
Margueretha Koenig #134601077
Thanks for going the extra mile here. I think Margueretha is part of the Koenig family at Crown Hill Cemetery in Colorado but I can't prove it. Since she lived 1911-1913, she doesn't appear in any of the 10-year federal censues. Also, it appears that there are some other Koenig families in the Bethlehem Cemetery so she could be part of one of those families. There are 3 trees of this family on They all list an unidentified names given, unfortunately. Thanks again for your kind efforts and the photos are great.

son grave James Elmer Harris buried at Prarie Grove
Cemetery Cottonwood Falls, Chase, Kansas
if you notice that between the father and mother
there is a space before the sons headstone
We are sure someone is buried there but who.
Is a record kept for the cemetery anywhere,
and is it possible we could find who is buried
Thank you for your time

Koenig children
Mae...I suspect that Margueretha Koenig, 1911-1913, (#134601077), also buried at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, is also part of this family but I can't verify it. Maybe you can read more on Margueretha's gravestone than I can??

It's sad to see a family lose so many children at very young ages. Also sad, the youngest, Victor Carl Koenig, (technically tied for youngest as he had a twin, Vernon) died at age 21 in a car accident after serving 3 years in WWII...Richard
