Geraldine Miller
Dear Marlene I added Geraldine's 3 married names. Her family had put in her obituary under her maiden name of Miller. I knew her family.

Hi Marlene
Thank you so much for bringing my attention to this particular death date listed on Sarah's memorial. According to ancestery.com Sarah did indeed live to be a 117. However, I am with you, and I as well question her long life and her death date.

Thank you so much for contacting me about this date. I plan to research these dates a bit better.

Have a great weekend :)
Rose

RE: Anniversary
Thank you Marlene for your kind message. I have tried to trace my Smiths to your husband's but there are so many of them that I became overwhelmed. I also discovered another Smith marriage( I think that makes 4 different Smith lines) and have come to the conclusion that I am related to every Smith! Thank you also for your faithful visits especially those KIAs.

I will check on this for you. I transferred all of my memorials in Highland to Lisa. I was too ill last year to keep up with them. She will do a fine job.

RE: Giese
My grandma said August George Giese came from Stallupollen, Germany, which was close to Stettin, Pomerania, Germany. His brother, John Michael Giese Jr. was born in Valm, Pommerania, Germany. And his father, my great great grandpa, was from Stallupollen. Grandma said that area became East Germany after the War. Grandma also said the Mellenthin's (her mother's family) also came from Stallupollen.

With a name such as Giese, we are probably related, albeit distant. The Giese's and Mellenthin's settled in Honey Creek, Sauk County, Wisconsin. That's where all the kids were born, and where most of them lived until they died. Sauk County is about 15 miles west of Madison, and about 20 miles south of the Wisconsin Dells.

Giese
Hi Marlene. I noticed you listed the name Giese in your list of ancestors. My great grandpa was August Giese, born in Germany, and came to Wisconsin around 1860. His wife was Emelie Melenthin, and they were married in Sauk County, Wisconsin. They had 16 children, the next to last was Loretta, born in 1899 in Honey Creek, Sauk County, Wisc. Loretta was my grandma. Are we any relation?
How I found your name: it was attached to a picture of Anna Ingersoll Bruington, in a cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. #74893077. My mother-in-law's maiden name was Potter, and I was researching out the burials in Potter Cemetery, Warren County, IL. The name Ingersoll pops up, and Anna's first husband Rufus Goff was a step-son of Chester Potter, whom the cemetery is named after.
If you need a list of Loretta's brothers and sisters, I will be happy to oblige. Thanks. Nancy Gawthrop
