I'm curious if you're related to Mr. Walling. I posted an earlier photo of him on his memorial. Cheers! John D.

Thank you for pointing out the Herrick article in the Matawan Journal.

I have cited your information on the page -

Gratefully,

RE: Transcriptions
I don't know what's going on either but the entire cemetery is so screwed up now because the guy who originally entered the names was too lazy to put all the info on the memorial. Maiden names are in the middle name column. He doesn't care about accuracy, only #s. Now he wants people to transcribe his stuff. Every cemetery he's touched is going to be a disaster. And he has 5 pics of same photo on memorials. His pictures leave much to be desired.
Thanks for responding.

Transcriptions
You have transcribed some headstones in St Bernard # 1 in Breaux Bridge. Your entries are duplicates!)

Hannah Corlies grave photo
Linda,

Request the removal of your photo for Hannah Corlies (101340815). There was already a grave photo which was bright and clear. Your photo is a duplicate and is very dark, not clear, and detracts from the memorial.

Thanks, Dennis Peterson

RE: Rose Hill Cemetery
HI

Yes we do go to the burrowes house sometimes. We talked to Al. We do go to Rose Hill to do some EVPS sessions. Me and my Bf do it we do not belong with a group. I cant be bother with rules catty nonsense that we have met talking with other groups.

I did pick up a young boy voice by Lesters I want to think it is him . As I went home for a little while I still kepted getting his voice at our house. AL said they come home with you.

Yes maybe we can meet there one day. :)

Hello there
HI

My name is Gabrielle the one who leaves little gifts for Lester Stillwell. The glove and fresh flowers and a new teddy bear is from me. Years ago when I lived in Jersey City would hear about the Matawan shark attacks. Had always want to go and pay my respects to Lester and Stanley. Now that I move to Middletown had my chance to do it.

There is an energy there around the graves as I do claim to be one to feel things and even see things from time to time. When me and my Bf went the first time there I told Lester how deeply sorry we are to what has happen to you. At that moment My bf got touched on the shoulder like someone put his hand on it. Was it him? Cant really say we like to think so.

We saw you lefted things as well as a very touching note to him! It really is wonderful to see other folks seeing them.
But there is 2 other souls there that everyone is forgetting their parents!! I plan to go back and leave his mother with flowers. In the books about what happen his mother has to see the body to say it was him and his father. All the pain they must of lived with seeing the horror of seeing the body and seeing the blood in the creek on that day.

Anyway we might bump into one another someday out there. If we do like to say hello!

Maj. John Burrowes, Jr.
Greetings, Linda!

Re: your comment on "taking in the Watson children"
Maj. John Burrowes, Jr. was a younger half-brother to his mother's children from her first marriage to Captain Watson. The little Watsons were still very young when she married "Corn King" Burrowes, and naturally they would have continued to live with her. By the time of "Corn King"'s death in 1785, however, her son Maj. John Burrowes Jr. was 32, and his Watson half-siblings several years older. Was there a half-brother among them, and did a tragedy befall him, that Maj. John Burrowes Jr. took in
another generation of Watson children? This is interesting!

Best regards,
Nikita

Greetings, Linda!

The best place to tell Margaret Forman Burrowes' story would be the bio section of her memorial page, so you may want to consider contacting the Graver who created it.
I have mentioned the incident involving the British officer in the bio section of the page I created for her husband, Maj. John Burrowes, Jr. Curious as to why there's no entry for him, I found more info in an 1887 history of New Jersey Revolutionary War officers. At some point after the war, he went to Georgia, where he died while traveling into its interior during "an unhealthy season". He was never heard from again, and his body was evidently never recovered.

Best regards,
Nikita
