A 'family historian' for 30+ years I only recently began taking cemetery photographs as time became available...I'm more than happy to fill requests, including those for 2 areas we visit several times each year: Clarksville, TN and Decatur, Illinois. My deepest thanks to all of the incredible volunteers at Find-A-Grave who have advanced my genealogy research tremendously, but even more important, have touched my heart with their many kindnesses and personal letters. You make this site a great one, and I salute you all!|

After the 3 georges, it goes down to Judith Hand, to Margarette Cresse down to the Stuarts. What's yours?
|Jessie Pearl Labrie||George Hand|
Hey! He's my 7th great grandfather too!
|Donald Tuttle||RE: Means'|
Wow! I'm sorry we missed Dave also. We did take pictures and will have to send you some. The old houses are gone, but the ranch buildings remain. The new owner has a spread near the beginning of the ranch. Entrance sign at highway 50 says cross bar ranch since 1892.
|Donald Tuttle||RE: George & Ida Solwig Means|
I haven't heard about the Indian connection. Social Security says they died in Sargents, but they must have been in a hospital in Gunnison?
We did visit George and Ida today and my Uncle Dave Oberwager at Blue Mesa Lake (ashes again). The ranch looks great. Did they sell out to the Cross Bar Ranch?
The weather is perfect! 34/79 all week. We drove to Saguache, St Elmo by Mt Princeton and Blue Mesa Lake. On the way home we will see the Great Sand Dunes and go down to Taos and Santa Fe.
|Donald Tuttle||RE: Checking In|
Are you still around? I am in Salida right now checking out the Means connections. Met my 3rd cousin, Bill Hazard in Saguache. I am wondering if you know where George E Sr and Ida are buried. There isn't much on them on Ancestry besides the census and SS death records. Gunnison?

Happy I was able to do this for you.

Thank you very much for the beautiful photos of the Doctor's grave and that of his infant daughter. Fall is a great time of year for visiting cemeteries I have found. The colors are great.
|GaryM||Re: James E. in Oakwood Cemetery|
Regarding your question about James E. possibly being buried in Oakwood by the large family named monument, I do not know the answer to that. The cemetery listing I have Oakwood does not contain his name. The only way to be sure might be to contact the person who posted that picture. Potentially they are in the area and could go check out the actual site.
Sorry I could not help more.

Wow! Isaac was a brother to my Great Grandfather, William Barnett Terhune (he lived in Rush County). That's really amazing -- we are related!
I'll be glad to share any of my Terhune info with you. My email is email@example.com. So glad you told me about Isaac!
|Judith W. (Family Finder)||Isaac H. Terhune|
First - thank you so much for posting all of the memorials for the family of Isaac H. Terhune. While I am not a direct descendant of Isaac's, I'm a descendant of his brother, William Barnett Terhune who lived in Rush County, Indiana.
While looking at the Illinois Statewide Death Index (before 1916) I found the following information that may be helpful for you -
Name of deceased: Isaac Terhune
Date: 1911 - 06 - 09
Age: 77 yrs.
Certificate No: 1
