|M M||RE: Leon (Jeff) Lago|
I did some further checking. I asked about the newspaper article. There had been a typo, and it was from 1897. Lena Steinblock Mau's headstone also says 1897.
I do not know if Leon (Jeff) and Lena were officially adopted or not, but they both went by Lago. The 1910 US Census says they were Paul Lago's adopted son and adopted daughter.
Leon (Jeff) Lago's and Marie Mau Gottsch's obituaries list each other as siblings. Other family trees on ancestry.com also support that August and Lena Mau were Leon (Jeff) and Lena Lago's biological parents.

I would just leave it like it is as it is Dickson on the tombstone. You might just mention in the bio section that the family spells it 2 ways. As you can see his father's name is spelled Dixon. And so are other members of the same family. Very strange indeed.
|Jan Bouffard||Mattie Mae Summerville|
Mattie Mae Summerville was my mother's biological mother. She was the first wife of Charles Henry Cookinham, and they had 3 daughters -- Helen Elizabeth (1898-1985); Hattie (Harriet) (1900-1992); and my mom Leah (1902-1988). Mattie was only 25 when she died. She had contracted polio and went to Des Moines for a radical new procedure -- pulling her legs straight to get rid of the polio. She died on the operating table, as the strain was too much for her heart and left her husband with 3 daughters under the age of 6. Charles remarried a year later and his second wife was Prudence Summerville, Mattie's younger sister. Charles and Prudence had 1 child, Gertrude (1906-1985).
Would you please transfer Memorial# 29202565 to our account. She is my husband's aunt.
Greatly appreciate your work in uploading this information.

First cousin twice removed. You can manage the memorial. I just wanted to link the family together and add some details. Some people like to manage. Some people like to gather the info.

Have you done any genealogy research on the Virgil family? Sarah B Virgil was my 3x great-grandmother. Do you have any clues as to who her parents were? Thank you for all the Virgil memorials you have posted. Claudia (Virgil) Harris

You may have noticed a change to this record (#20337260). I had discovered a duplicate record for her which was linked to her husband and four children, and asked the Find A Grave admin if they could merge the two records, keeping what was unique about each one.
They did merge the records, but while keeping the links FROM the records they lost almost everything else, including the links TO her record and the image of her obituary.
I found the image of her obituary in an Ancestry tree and added it, and the links from her children to her have been reinstated.
Sorry for the disruption.
I am interested in this family as her brother Albert Puck (1896-1963) married a (distant) cousin, Charlotte Kinshella. Their daughter Dale is in Find A Grave (#112198114) but I have not yet found out where Albert and Charlotte are buried.

I do not know if you are aware that on your profile page there is a new edit button that has edits to fix memorials. I have probably send 25 or more to you as they do not come to your email. I did not know this either to it was brought to my attention.
