Just a note on the interments and photos. Some are family, some are friends and MANY others are people that I did not know. If you find any errors or want to add information to the person, please let me know.|
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and have been working on genealogy for almost 60 years.
My love of genealogy began as a young teenager.
I enjoy just driving into a cemetery and reading the headstones and wondering about the history of the person.
I would be willing to take or retake a 'close up' photos of headstones in the cemeteries around Metro Denver.
At the present time we are working on Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. It might be a life long job but enjoying the challenge.
WE WILLINGLY MAKE TRANSFERS WITHIN THE 4 GENERATION "FIND A GRAVE" GUIDELINES WHICH ARE:
Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for EACH transfer. PLEASE STATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE DECEASED.
Our thanks to all of you who have sent additional information for the memorials.
If you 'find' one of your family member that has a photo of the headstone, I would love to hear from you.
Please know that you are free to USE the photos. I take pictures of headstones out of kindness ...not for my ego or for the "numbers."
Enjoy Life -- It is too short.

Add to obit? Sounds good to me. :-)

Picture posted to fulfill request, but as noted with the picture, partial shadow due to sun angle and depth of marker. Will revisit in the future to try to take a better noon-time picture which should resolve the shadow presence.

I was asked to document all of the Vets at Riverside, in doing so, I found a little something that may or may not be for this Lyman Green. (The info is pretty co-incidental if this not our Lyman Green).
Re: Headstone picture on Find A Grave - Lyman Green; Co B; Indpt Btry; Wis Lt Arty; 1886.
Re: United States Records of Headstones of Deceased Union Veterans, 1879-1903, www.familysearch.org -- Found a Lyman Green; Pvt, 9 IN Dpt Batty; Wis L Arty; d. 07 Aug 1862, buried in GAR area of Riverside; stone contracted 25 Aug 1902 (17). If this is our Lyman Green, then he was first buried elsewhere, possibly City Cemetery, as Riverside came into existence in 1876 & the GAR section purchased via GAR Group in 1880s/1890s.
It appears, if this is our Lyman Green, that the 1886 date on the stone is the interment date at Riverside Cemetery's GAR section, not the death year.
Food for thought. :-)

Joe Bill Perdue is at Ft. Logan in Denver.
Section 22, Site 594
Sorry for never noticing that info.
|Maria Russell||Re: Addition to Gary Gregg memorial|
I have added the information you provided, thanks a lot.
|Jack W Garrison||RE: Purdue|
Joe Bill Perdue became my uncle when my Aunt Virginia and he were married at the end of WW 2. They met in the hospital in CO when he was operated on to have his leg amputated as a result of action in the "Battle of the Bulge" in January of 1945.
I would be very happy to accept the transfer of this this site.
