Bio Photo Welcome -

We are doing a holy service by remembering the dead, and preserving history.

I think we all have a piece of the puzzle and if everyone contributes, questions will be answered.

This a wonderful site for remembering people. Peoples lives are fascinating and they deserve to be remembered and documented.

Please remember we are not just entering names or stones, but real people. Please ask yourself if your memorial is search-able. All memorials should have last names. Women who never marry, and children don't have maiden names. There is no maiden name unless the name changes. Also please do not use ().

Please do NOT create duplicates.

If you notice any mistakes, please let me know, and I will be happy to fix them. Nobody is perfect, we are all fallible human beings mostly doing the best we can at the moment.

We are merely stewards of 'our' memorials - we manage them and are entrusted with their care and maintenance, but we do not technically 'own' them.

Please read the FAQs (frequently asked questions). Thanks, and please try to resolved unknown burials ASAP.

Please free to use any of my photos with appropriate citations. Will also add updates, -the more info, the better. I don't have a policy about transfers - ask and we can work it out.

"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always." (author unknown)

Hi Donna,

I was about to send you a message!

Transfer is not necessary.

As you can probably tell, I'm editing, updating, adding info/pages. I stumbled on quite by accident.

I have my grandparents wedding photo (1892) - is this something that's acceptable to post?

Also, what looks like a relative's anniversary photo.

There is also a photo of my father with his four sisters - would this be acceptable to post?

Thanks, in advance, for your reply.

Thank you!
Dear Donna, Thank you very much for the photo of George Sammons's gravestone. A y-DNA match suggests his Sammons family and our Simons family are related. So it means a lot to us to trace the Sammons family history.
Best wishes,
Peg Simons

Hannah in Edgewood Cemetery
Thank you very much for telling me of the problem with the memorial for "Hannah" in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio. I was not able to identify her, so I deleted the memorial.
Thanks again for this message and for all of your work on Find A Grave.
Best wishes, Peg

Child 1 Bonesteel
I think the dates are right, but there is always a chance of error with old information. It is possible they don't have a marker, possibly never was or no longer around. The kids passed at a very young age from what I remember, if that helps.

Charles A. Pardee
Hi Donna.

Could you please transfer memorial #104579519 (Charles A. Pardee) over to me. This is a distant Uncle of mine and while researching my direct lineage, I came across a lot of information about Charles.

I have found a wealth of information on him and would like to update the memorial and manage it.
