I've been involved in my family history search for thirty years - plus. A most passionate, addictive hobby, for sure!|
The 'Find A Grave' site is most wonderful! Very rewarding, and hopefully much help to others.
ALL the volunteers are wonderful, and "MANY THANKS" to those who have transferred family members to me, or have allowed me to enter family info that has been collected over the years. Having (creating or owning) the memorial is not as important as having the information placed on it.
Remember, folks, Find-A-Grave is like a safety deposit box... info and photo's will be saved there, if anything were to happen with in-home information, and what a wonderful place to honor all those who have passed on, and be shared with others.
Try to get your tombstone pictures as early as you can, as after years, the letters might not be as clear, and many other things might happen to them.
BE ACCURATE, as what a shame to have INCORRECT information listed.. not fair for other family members, nor the person memorial is for-
Use your voice for kindness,
your ears for compassion,
your hands for charity.
your mind for truth,
and your heart for love.

Hi Janice, I am wondering if you would transfer the site of Ella Mae Cooke #79996181 and her son Frederick Gordon Cooke #80042420 to me. As you know, Ella is my husband's mother, and F.G. Bunny is his brother. Thanks for your help in putting these on Find-A-Grave, and for your assistance in getting me started - I find it such a rewarding hobby - and get so excited finding family & friends. You are doing an awesome job. Dorothy Cooke

You're very welcome! And thanks for reading my write-up -- I've been getting a lot of positive feedback on it. Be the change you want to see in the world.. or the funeral industry I suppose, huh? :-)
Thanks for the transfer, I appreciate the nice memorial you created.

Hello Janice. I'm a distant direct descendant to Bessie Wilson and am brand new at this. Are their any other links to Bessie on Find A Grave. I've just started this and wondering about procedures.

You are so very welcome. Glad you like the photos.

Janice: I am sorry to report that the gravesite for Helen Tenold is un-marked. With detailed burial card for this plot from the cemetery I located the plot where Helen should be and the grave which she is next to and there is no marker.
I have put the unmarked photo on her memorial.
Due to the depression at that time I can understand the lack of a grave-stone, times were difficult.

You are very welcome. If you like I can transfer the management of John O. to you. Just let me know.

If you did not personally take this picture, it has to be removed.
