My husband, Mac, and I have taken on this project to try and help others see the final resting places of their loved ones. I enjoy genealogy research, and have been helped by FAG volunteers filling my requests for photos, therefore we thought this would be a good way to "pay it forward". If anyone has additional information to add or corrections that should be made to these memorials, please let me know. |
You are more than welcome to use photos that we've made and added to FAG however, we would ask that you give us credit by adding the following information:
Find A Grave volunteer: Hancock #47167004.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who cares
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you."
"A FAMILY TREE CAN WITHER IF NOBODY TENDS ITS ROOTS".

Sorry, I do not have any pictures. I'm just trying to connect families in my area.

Thanks for the input. George Michael Huffaker & Agatha Lee Huffaker are my 4th G-Grandparents. I have been researching the Huffaker's & their descendants for 15 yrs. I would be interested in some documentation to support your theory.

You are welcome. I am not related to her. I had found her parents names in some death records. If you are interested and haven't already, check this website out. www.murraycountymuseum.com

I just posted it.

I'm not a relative. It just makes it easier to find a headstone and it looks nicer to photograph the whole stone and then take a close-up of the info if it isn't clearly readable. It is called "Find A Grave". Sorry if I didn't give the cemetery name, I should have, as I enter on lots of cemeteries and I also find it a problem when someone requests a change. Kathy

When you photograph a grave, could you please try to get the whole headstone in the photo and then take a close up also. I was looking at Pleasant Valley Cem, Felix Petty and others when I noticed the cut off headstone photos. Thanks, Kathy
