When I was researching my own family, I received a great deal of help from complete strangers who were willing to help me without asking anything in return. I felt the need to pay that forward. So it tickles me beyond words to discover my headstone photos as part of someone's family tree. How sad would it be if after all the photos are taken and posted and researched and documented that no one looked at them or cared that they were there. So to those of you who have found my photos and made use of them, thanks for caring and you're most welcome.|
For the most part I am unrelated to most of the memorials I have posted. For those that I'm not, I find it sad to leave them as just names and dates and feel that its important to say at least a little something about their lives. For those that have nothing there, they're not forgotten, I just haven't gotten there yet. And while I don't always cite my sources on each memorial, for Long Island special thanks goes to Carolee Nichols Diamond and David Roberts for their unending patience and wealth of information, the transcriptions of Elbert N. Carter and longislandgenealogy and Ancestry, (with a nod to the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, various volumes), Suffolk County Historical Newspapers, George Moraitis, Historian for the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Steve Gill from the Patchogue Cemeteries Restoration Committee, Dan Prunty, Ruland Funeral Home and President of Cedar Grove Cemetery, and Marcy from Cedar Grove, who lets me raid her records without complaint.
If you find something that needs correcting, or if you have information you'd like added, please use the SAC and I'll be happy to make the changes. If its a close family member and you'd like to have it transferred into your care, please let me know. Again, most of them are unrelated to me and I would gladly have them find a home with family.

Would you please transfer Louis Edwin Granger's memorial to me. He is my great grandfather. His number is 125430789. My number is 41639106.
Thank you very much.
Do you know where Francis Sr. is buried? I'm connected through his son John (and wife Eliabeth.)

Thank you for the transfer of my uncle. Although he is not buried there, I feel that we should get the death date on the stone. Do you know businesses that I could contact to do this? Also, there should be some empty lots there that we may be willing to sell. Do you know who to contact about this? Thanks for any information.

Hi Aislin, Thank you for transferring my Grandmother's memorial over to me. Would you mind transferring the remainder of my family in that plot over to me? They would be Charles Frederick Wood, Lela Belle Wood, Charles Frederick (Fred) Wood & Leon Wood also. I would be grateful.
Sincerely, Peggy Wood

Hi, Aislin: I am hard at work on my chapter dealing with Rev. Edward Lord. I see you have added a photo of his wife's stone. May I have your permission to use it in my book? Many thanks. Natalie J. Woodall
