|Kansas City Woman||RE: Starling Stanmore Bowen|
Thank you, too, for finally helping us identify the children. My husband's grandmother said they were Stan's "grandchildren," but she thought they were children of J. S. S. "Jimmy" Bowen, but the ages just didn't work out.
It's a nice clear photo, obviously taken the same day as the one you have.
I have a copy of Stan's Civil War service record--did you know he spent almost three years in prison at Camp Chase in Illinois after his capture in Tennessee? I'll be happy to copy it for you.
|Kansas City Woman||Starling and Frances Bowen|
My husband's ancestor was Starling Bowen (through his youngest son from his first marriage--James S. S. Bowen). We have a photo of Starling Bowen and a couple of his granddaughters taken (it seems) the same day the one you posted of Frances and Starling Bowen. Do you know when the photo was taken? We suspect c1911 or so. Will be happy to share.
|Amatae||Elias W. Knight Memorial|
Hello Tina. I am researching my husband's line and ran across your memorial for Elias W. Knight #51259005. I see you've noted that his twin brother was Elijah W. Knight who I believe is the same Elijah that is my husband's 3rd great grandfather. I was wondering if you are also researching this family and if so, do you happen to know if this brother Elijah had a wife named Penina (or a variant of that spelling)? Thank you for your work on these family memorials and thank you for putting that note in his bio that made me look twice. Best wishes.

|Judy K. Brantley/Wilson||RE: Bernice & ED McGinnis|
It was more than 20 years ago. I was told maybe there were drugs involved and he was probably locked up in another country - maybe to never be heard from again. I know a few years had passed when we talked to Bernice the last time and she still had not heard from him--really a sad situation.
|Judy K. Brantley/Wilson||Bernice & ED McGinnis|
Thank you so much. I lived across the street from them for years and my best friend of 58 years lived next door to them. That Ed was so sweet and very funny. Bernice was just as nice as could be. I remember Mike, Debbie & Terrie. I know they had several more children as we ran in to them in West End one day in a restaurant after I married. Marlene (the next door neighbor) and I called and talked to Bernice o ne night and talked about old times. At the time, Mike had gone missing somewhere I believe in the Carribean. Never knew if he was ever found or not. Do you know? Thanks again, Judy
