Hi there, |
I live in Mississippi and have been researching my family history off and on for about 10 years now. I love uncovering new ancestors and finding new cousins. Cemeteries have fascinated me since I was a little girl so I'm glad my daughter-in-law told me about this site. I've spent a lot of time in local cemeteries copying tombstones and will try to load them all on here as time allows.
Surnames I am researching are: Schmidt/Smith, Sartin, Townsend, Wilson, Mason, Rutland, May, Farley, Barnes, Brister, Owens, Magee, Ingram, Williams, Boyanton, Jordan, Bridges, Galbreth, Carouth, Crosby, Walker, Jones, Allgood, Case, Stewart, Hunt, and four to five more Smith lines. I'll be more than happy to share and compare any information I have.
Please let me know if I have any mistakes that need to be corrected.

No worry on the late thanks, better late than never!
Not to be a pill here, but you took out her last name on the memorial, you've got both names in the maiden name field and nothing in the surname field. You might want to fix that.

Thank you, Patti, for the additional information. I just added it to his memorial. I always appreciate it when someone sends me more to make the ones I add as good as possible. Lucy
|Jeremy Weems||SMITH FAMILY|
My grandfather, Shelby C. Smith of Jackson, MS. I got to your page from tracing my family all the way back to "Captain Billy" William Smith.
Congrats on 5 years, 5 months & 5 days doing what you love.
Catch ya later~
Patti, John had a son named Jeremiah but I do not have any brothers Isaac or Jeremiah. I would be happy to know exactly what you have and I will make corrections to memorial if they are wrong. Debra

He is my 3rd Great Grandfather and I found his middle name on a Walker tree as Jeremiah. I am still not sure if that is correct. Debra

I believe the lady I transferred to added the name and other links.

Would you consider transferring his account to me? I have his date of death and would like to update his information.

|Doug McBroom||RE: Beauvoir - Enos MAY|
We believe the "Mrs E. May" buried in Beauvoir is John Winston MAY's wife, Sarah Elizabeth HIGHTOWER MAY. She lived to be 85, which matches the tombstone. Since her name/dates are on John Winston MAY's tombstone, our thought is the Mrs E. MAY tombstone was the one placed when she was buried. John Winston's tombstone looks much newer, so we thought a family member added it later. My wife's family lives in Biloxi, so I'm going to visit Beauvoir when there next and see if they kept any burial records. They built a huge library there for Jefferson Davis, so maybe they kept a log. Doug (a MAY genealogist)
|John Andrew Meyer||Thomas Marion Case|
Thank you very much for the corrections about Thomas Case. Please look at them on his memorial to see if I made the corrections correctly.
P.S. The Minyard family are scattered throughout my family tree. It seems to me that everyone in Mississippi are somehow related.
