I am interested in recording family, family friends and the families that made up Rhodes IA. Most of my entries are involved with Rhodes, IA. A community of people deeply connected to my family on both sides. If they aren't blood relatives, then they were people involved in the daily living of my family.

John: It was my pleasure. That cemetery is VERY old and most of the stones are broken, very weathered and totally unreadable so I was happy to find Catharina's still intact AND readable! Patty

|Dustin Oliver||Hanssens at Oakdale|
While I was at Oakdale earlier today, I took photos of the other Hanssen family stones in the same lot as J.N.L. Hanssen. They are: Helene Marie Hanssen, Frank B. Hanssen, Janet G. Hanssen, Dora Hanssen Allgoewer, Larned Hanssen, and Nadine L. Hanssen. I added them all. Please feel free to link them if you know how they fit together.
I also noticed while I was looking for those Hanssens on the site that I had taken a photo of the gravestone of Erwin Ralph Hanssen last summer. He is the infant son of Louis Hanssen and Paula Bruhn Hanssen. He's buried in the Bruhn family lot, near his grandparents.

You are very welcome for the photo.
I also found some more Nabstedt's in the Mausoleum, tried to connect from what you had added, I would appreciate it if you would take a look and make sure I have them correct.

I'm sure I'll run into some additional obituaries of yours in the future. I'll be sure to share them. Enjoy the holiday tomorrow.

I thought you would! I'm glad I was able to share. What an amazing man he was. Those were the nicest words I've read about anyone in a publication in a long time.

I have a copy of a brochure that the cemetery published about the private mausoleums. When I get home later, I will see what other info is in there about the family.
|Kate Jacques||Dorothy Hennessey, OSF|
I think that you may have transferred D Hennessey to me in error as I have no connection to her. While I am happy to transfer to her to the right person, I very much enjoyed her interesting obit.
|Scott||Husband of Elva Jones|
Hi John, I photographed Elva's stone today. Unfortunately, I didn't find a stone for David.
