I became interested in my family history about 20 years ago after my mother died. She and her sisters had worked for many years researching and collecting their family information. I have enjoyed reading all the stories and history that has been passed to me.|
My family names are: Hicks, Mason, Alsup, Sweeten, Bagby/Bagsby, Lamb, Proehl, Wilson, Yeakly/Yeakley, Moser, Luginsland, Sindlinger.
My husband's family names are: Charlton, Shenold/Schenold/Schinold, Kugler, Servey, Snider, Matheny, Rood, Ballinger/Ballenger, McKinley, Edwards, Stanberry, Daniel, Licklighter, Bryant and Jones.

Catherine would be my great great grandmother on my father's side. I'm trying to research her mother, the Cherokee mother, and wondered if you had any idea what her name was. Thanks for any help or direction you can point me.
|Tonya||RE: Lydia Collins Upshaw Alsup|
Hi, found a page that I printed off in 2012 from rootsweb.com.. It states a story from A Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region. The story is that Leroy Upshaw was killed by William N. Alsup who then married his widow Lydia Collins Upshaw. The ambush supposed to have happened in Rockbridge, Missouri in 1856. Hope this helps.

You're welcome. I know the time it takes to acquire the family history and money too. I made five trips to Europe myself.
You're doing a good job yourself, love the photos. Say, I even love your puppy dog.

Elisha Smith marriage certificate at Gem County, Idaho, recorded his marriage to Anna McCauley of Portland, Oregon, on 3 August 1930.

Messenger Index May 4, 1972 obituary (Emmett, ID)
for Mrs. R. M. Smith indicated she was born October 6, 1893, at Wilsonvale, Kansas, and married Elisha Smith October 30, 1930. She was survived by a brother, William Schenold of Huchinson, Kansas.
Index June 25, 1953 obituary for Elisha Smith suggested they married at Emmett (Idaho), on August 4, 1930.
|Sue Ann Harfst||Roseanna McCauley Smith at Emmett, Idaho|
According to the interment log for this cemetery, Roseanna McCauley Smith is buried with/by Anna McCauley (date of burial 5/1/1972), E. Smith (no first name or date of burial), Mattie Smith (no date of burial), Richard T. Smith (date of burial 10/7/1974), and William L. Smith (date of burial 3/1/2006). This cemetery puts the date of burial in their log, rather than the date of death.
There are a LOT of other Smiths in the cemetery, and quite a few more in the general area of Roseanna. Those are the closest, as best I can tell from the book. I don't anticipate getting to Emmett any time soon, so I hope that this information can be of some help to you until someone claims your request. If you have a specific name or names other than Roseanna to inquire about, from Emmett, feel free to ask. I copied their interment log.

I called Lakeside Cemetery office to get Bobby's plot location for your photo request and she said there is no one by that name listed there.
