Bio and Links
Bio Photo Findagrave has a wonderful feature that allows memorial holders to update many requests at a time, but only if done via the Edit tab --- so please try that before leaving information on the profile page! This feature is a true blessing.

Please keep your requests via the "other" information option to a minimum, as the workload has become unsustainable.

Over zealous senders may find theirs deleted. Hope they switch to messages via flowers. Thank you.

Obits under copyright should be summarized and will not be posted, so please do not send them. In most cases, there is a 72-year or longer time period.

If you wish to download one of my tombstone pictures, you may do so for personal usage and should give proper credit. Under no circumstances should they be added to other sites (such as Ancestry) as if they are your own.

Photographs of individuals require PERMISSION, and if lifted from here without appropriate permission or credit are subject to licensing fees.

Please follow Findagrave guidelines to be within a few generations and a direct descendant. For older ones, please communicate the reason.

As the number of memorials I manage increases, I sometimes elect to transfer without being asked. If you received a transfer and do not wish to manage it, please transfer back.

Smeonn Lewis and Dora Lewis-Wrong Cemetery?
Hi Mary,

My name is Gary Stanford and I may be reached at My grandparents were Paris D. Lewis and Nellie Myrtle Coyle Lewis from Shelbyville, Shelby, Indiana. I have been doing extensive research on the Lewis family in Shelby and Bartholomew Counties, Indiana. I came across what clearly appears to be an error. You created a Find A Grave memorial for Simeon Lewis (1855-1900), Find A Grave #6858762. You also created a Find A Grave memorial for his wife, Dora Hughes Lewis (1859-1934), Find A Grave #6858763. You have them currently listed in the wrong cemetery! You have no photo of any headstone because they do not appear to be buried in Morristown.

Please see Find A Grave #43535311 (Simeon) and Find A Grave #43437823 (Dora). Even though your Find A Grave memorials for these two people was created first, you have them erroneously buried at the wrong cemetery. The correct (and valid) Find A Grave memorial numbers are 43535311 (for Simeon) and Find A Grave #43437823 (for Dora). These Find A Grave memorials are complete with photos of their names and dates listed at Temple Hill Mausoleum in Shelbyville, Shelby, Indiana.

To add a twist to all of this, if there is a Simeon Lewis who was actually buried at Morristown, then the dates and spouse information may in fact be wrong for this person. This is important because I am searching for a missing Simeon Lewis who would have been born in the 1830's in or around Columbus, Bartholomew, Indiana. This grave at Morristown, if it even actually exists there, may very well belong to a different Simeon Lewis (and his wife was not Dora Hughes Lewis).

Please look into this and feel free to contact me at

RE: Eliza Hannah Bissell Hale
We are not related to any of these Hales. The two we are related to by marriage I don't see. I guess I'll just leave well enough alone & hope their families don't wonder who the heck I am:)

RE: Eliza Hannah Bissell Hale
Thanks Mary, but the Hales are not my family, except for Julis & Lois who married into my family of Bissells. Not sure if I should be managing these as I have none of them in my tree (except for Julius & Lois). Can you transfer them back?

Mary Hannigan
I am in receipt of your edit request regarding Mary Hannigan. It does appear that I have made a typo mistake on the date of death. I am curious regarding the source of your information regarding the maiden name, only because it would be informative to my own geneaology. My email address is Are you a descendant?

Thanks for your recent transfer of Parkers entered for Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale. I have received funeral programs and other information provided by their friends or relatives.

Updates will be added as more data becomes available.
