Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a healthcare professional, originally from Madison, WI. I spend a lot of my free time doing genealogy & caring for old family photos. I also collect antique books, tintypes, ambrotypes and daguerreotypes.

These are my main surnames of interest- please contact me to exchange info/photos: Mayville, Diebold, Star[c]k, Walsh, Hurst, Tice, Walter, Emmerich, Hess, Hagemann, Brandmueller, and Liebenow, among many others. I have also worked extensively on documenting in Wisconsin the entire lineage of Starck emigrants from the city of Orenhofen, region of Trier, Germany.

Check out my Brick Walls. Maybe you can help!

-------------------------------------------

Please credit me if using my photos elsewhere!! This includes Ancestry.com, your personal genealogy page, etc. I don't mind if you use my photos, just please cite your source!

Please submit any additions, corrections or transfer requests via the "edit" tab on each individual memorial.

I have no problem transferring as long as they are not my family; however, I do not support "memorial collectors." The goal of find-a-grave is not to "own" memorials for each member of your family, but to make sure each memorial is as accurate as possible.

-------------------------------------------

My most meaningful work on Find-a-grave are the cemeteries I have fully photographed / transcribed. These cemeteries are special as I am related to many buried there:

-Lawrence/Cady Cemetery (Brown Co., WI 2006-07)
-Saint Louis Catholic Cemetery (Caledonia, WI 2009-10)
-Fairview Cemetery (Greenleaf, WI, 2010)
-St. James Catholic Cemetery (Oak Creek, WI 2010)
-Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery (Westport, WI, 2012)

and the following portions of Resurrection Cemetery in Madison, WI:
Section 1, Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 (2012-13)
Section 3, Blocks 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 31, 32, 33 & 42 (2013-14)
Section 4, Blocks 11, 12, 13, 21 & 22 (2014)

I have photographed the following but haven't uploaded yet:
Section 2, Blocks 5, 6, & 7 (2014)
Section 8 (2014)

RE: Nancy Ramey
Sounds all right to me, but I think the name Old Line should precede Peyton because obviously people around here don't think Peyton, it's always been The Line. Whatever you think is the best way, though, is fine with me. Thanks.

Read what Mr. Moore wrote on my page, I think his name shows as JFGN. Put our heads together!

RE: Nancy Ramey
I have been to both cemeteries many times so I know how they are laid out. I have written Mr. Moore who may have set this up since so many of the memorials have his name. I don't know whose responsibility it would be to change any name, not mine. I spoke with a genealogist friend of mine who has lived here all her life, and she said she had never heard the name Peyton Cemetery. So, what to do? I don't know. I'm leaving my memorials at The Line.
I wish when cemeteries are set up that the address would be included as well as directions. I know there are some that do. Gets confusing. For example, there are 2 Broad River Baptist Church Cemeteries in Franklin County. People were posting memorials to the wrong one, and one lady wanted to fight me, telling me I had her family in the wrong Broad River. The list goes on and on. Sometimes there is not enough research or not checking to see if a site has already been set up for a cemetery, making duplicates of the same cemetery. I have also noticed when some set up church cemeteries, they don't put the whole name of the cemetery...church cemeteries are not public cemeteries. Therefore, I think the name should include the full name of the church.

I've looked in The History of Banks County by Julia Mize, and I don't find a Peyton Cemetery, just The Line and The Old Line, White and Colored.

RE: Nancy Ramey
Where is the info saying that is a Peyton Cemetery? I imagine anyone looking for relatives buried there wouldn't know to look anywhere but the Line. Just curious.. Is there an actual cemetery book for it?

RE: Nancy Ramey
I never heard it called Peyton Cemetery. I was just told it was the old part of The Line Cemetery.
