|Row Walker||Re: Can I Help?|
But of course! Here I what I sent to David.
I have an older entry, for William Wallace Gray; a Civil War era individual who, on his substantial monument, is identified as "Captain". With my limited resources, I'm at a standstill. While he is buried in Merced, I'm hoping you may be of assistance.
Find A Grave Memorial# 6526467
(I cannot verify that there is a CW connection.)
Do you recall the name of the individual in Fresno who is affiliated with (I think) the genealogy society and is particularly interested in Civil War entries? I have someone for whom I need some advise. Thanks, my friend.
|lizzyandme40||Incorrect Birth Info|
William Melvin Smith was born in Cullman Co., Alabama, not Nebraska. Also, his birth date is 10 Feb 1933, as shown on the Social Security Death File, not 20 Feb 1933.
Thanks for volunteering your time for Find A Grave. It is much appreciated.
|MooreToots||Erma HASKINS - Bennett #24559206|
On the name 'Sheppherd or Sheppard". The correct spelling is Shepherd, as Erma's grandmother Betsie SHEPHERD (born abt 1826, in New York) was staying with the Haskins, in Nebraska during the June of 1880 US Census, listed as Married (Couldn't find Mr. Shepherd, in the Census), an 'unemployed worker'(and a "Carpenter" at that...yikes) at the age 52, as well as Edwin (son-in-law), being a 'unemployed Carpenter', as well...for 5-months.m
Maybe, this was when Edwin Haskins decided to make the move to British Columbia, Canada (maybe 'Ed', read something in the newspaper, like a big job opportunity, of needing help, to cut tree's down ..., this is just a guess) he may have gone alone first, then sent for his family or he went and brought them, to Canada. I hope this help some....
Just thought of something, can I please have this Memorial transferred over to me, I wasn't looking any transfer at all, and if you decide not to, that ok too.

I am researching my one side of the Toothman's marrying into the Haskins family, with the current and on-going investigation of the 'Edwin and Melissa "Lettie" Haskins family (Erma's parent's).
Erma's real is Martha Erma Haskins, she was born in (and very possibly) Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada in 1883 and no where else, and the same with her brother's and sister's, except for her oldest sister Adda (Addie) Bessie May Haskins, she WAS born in Michigan.
Erma, married a David KELLY (Age 23, born abt. 1877, in Ireland), in Victoria, BC, Canada, on May 5, 1900. His father (Joseph) and mother (Elizabeth SAUNDERS) were present, and Erma was 18.
David Kelly, died between 1908 and/or sometime in 1909, where for sure, I don't know at this time, but still researching.
Erma, married (her 2nd husband, George Everett Bennett) sometime, either in late 1909 or just before the April/1910 US Census, while living Oakland, CA. (still looking for a Marriage License, on Erma and George, I have Erma and David's).
Erma, had one other brother named "Joy", born in 1881 (and in Canada, also), but is still being researched and on-going. as we speak, by another family researcher (Kathie), and myself.
If you question's, feel free to contact me and
also, (and I don't say this often enough), not only for me as a family researcher, but for the other researcher's as well, and that is, how we ALL appreciate your efforts in FindAGrave, cause without your unselfish dedication, in any weather, to create these handsome Memorial's....., you see, family genealogy researcher's and investigators would be at a loss, without YOU!
Thank you Rose, and all you Guy's and Gal's out there in FindAGrave, please, keep up the great work!
