Thanks to you SAC-senders for generously donating your time to make our memorials more accurate and more complete.

Phony "rules." A few Gravers create faux rules, like "no death certificates on my memorials," despite the fact that the FAQs are perfectly clear: "Death certificates may be added...." Maybe these folks missed the "follow the rules" and "play nicely with others" lessons in kindergarten.

RE: Farrington family
Checked our index records this am and there is no Jacob Farrington. If you would like to be on the cemetery newsletter mailing list you can send me your address at:
This goes out once a year with updates on what is happening at the cemetery.

RE: Farrington family
No I am not related. I am actually Secretary for Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. We are trying to update and make our records more accessible. I will look to see if we have anything on Jacob in our index file but if he is not buried in Mt. Pleasant it is highly doubtful. That is a long time to be searching but being a genealogist myself I know it is not out of the ordinary.

RE: Locating Graves
Thanks for all the information! And especially the idea of taking the photos of the tombstones with me - I had never considered that & it should be a big help. I've started a list of the cemeteries with the different names I'll be looking for when we get there in June. In the meantime, I'll try contacting any of those that could possibly have maps of the layout. F.A.G. is such a wonderful tool and has given me a wealth of information. Thanks to you and all the others who have contributed so much here.

John H Beck
I just added a memorial with PHOTO of a John H Beck (#146087315) in Loveland Burial Park 1846-1921. Just noticed your note on the Rev. John H. Beck memorial and I'm thinking they are probably one and the same (one year difference on death year). Would you look and if you believe they are the same let me know and I will add the photo to your memorial and delete mine. Thanks

Locating Graves
Hi Jay! We are planning a trip to Ohio from NC in the early part of June so I can visit as many of the cemeteries as possible where I have family buried. Most of these are located in Highland and Clinton counties & some seem to be rather large. How does someone go about locating a grave without having to go from stone to stone? Or is that the only solution? We will be in Wilmington for at least 2-3 days and I hope to cover as many as I can. My grandmother, Emma LeAnna Wright Outland, was the daughter of Elwood and Nannie Wright. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Phyllis Lassiter

Peter Cowman
There's a "query" on the page about Peter Cowman, discounting him being named Johann Peter. It was common in the German community that he was in, to name many children Johann XXXX and then they would go by XXXX. The church baptismal records frequently support this concept. He would have gone by Peter in common use, but his name may have been Johann Peter. It's not that big a mystery, once you study the german lines. It was Kaumann in the church records, also.
