Bio and Links
Bio Photo My father-in-law, Robert (Bud) H. Starkey, got me interested in genealogy around the year 2000. Our common roots were about all we could discuss without disagreeing. Bud has since passed away. He left me his GEDCOM and as a tribute to him, I've carried on his work. And added my side of the family to his work. I have also expanded some of his branches.

This is a picture of my son, Sam. He helps me find each marker. In fact, he's better at finding them than I am. (He gets a kick out of that.)

Sam and I spend most of our Find A Grave time at cemeteries in Roane County, Tennessee.

I would be more than happy to transfer any memorial to anyone that has a closer connection than I to the deceased.

The website I have as my Home page is my GEDCOM on The sirnames I'm reasearching are: Duncan, Giplin, King, Brinsfield, Starkey, Edwards, Carpenter and Causey.

I would love to hear from any of my relatives.

RE: Laura Vittitow Cambron

Thank you! You really didn't have to do that. I just try to get family all connected for everyone to be able to work on their trees. My grandmother was a Vittitow from that area and I have been working on them all. We are all related from 3 brothers who came there. I will take very good care of it!

Thanks again!

RE: George Thomas Perkins
It was no problem getting the picture. I visit Vine Hill Cemetery every year to pay my respects to relatives. George Thomas Perkins is a cousin on my Mother's side. His father (Ulyssess Grant "Pete" Perkins) was my Grand Uncle. Sincerely, Joe Castell

The Register brick wall

I have been butting my head against a brick wall for years trying to tie James Register (1753-1799) to his children.

2 of those children are my 4th great grandmothers, Lydia (Register) Holmes and Deborah (Register) Robertson. I try to query anyone I come across who in some way mentions a Register connection if they know of any proof to tie the older James Register to his children.

His will names only his single son, Francis, and lists his 6 daughters as "my other children"

You mentioned Francis Register Holmes which gave me a glimmer of hope since I am descended from his older sister, Rebecca Ann (Holmes) Phillips (my 3rd great grandmother)

The only viable document that I have ever heard of is a 1883 letter written by Deborah (Register) Robertson's son, Rev. Joseph Robertson (who was living in the Northwest - Montana/Wyoming area) to his 1st cousin once removed, George Robertson, an attorney in Audirsch County, MO. In that letter he names his mother (Deborah (Register) Robertson) and the rest of James Register's children along with to whom each was married.

I have read transcriptions of that letter in a couple of genealogy books, but have never been able to locate the original hand written letter or a readable photocopy of it so that I may obtain a photocopy of same.

Any info on tying James Register and his wife, Deborah Chance, to heir children would be a great gift!!

I've corrected the spelling. The other memorial is the duplicate since it was created a full 4 years after the one I hold. Please send a notice to that holder to delete their duplicate. Thank you. 144614385

Memorial number 35076827
Someone had posted a photo request for Claude Woods. I took a photo and hit Fulfil on the form and it linked to the referenced memorial number. I notice the dates on the headstone and the text in the memorial are not consistent. I want to ensure you agree that I was directed to the correct Claude Woods. This is the grave that I was directed to.

Sallie Ann Duncan Perkins
I am doing my Duncan family tree. Sallie Ann Duncan's father name is not Mack. His name is G. B. McClellan Duncan, her mothers name is Martha Ellen Bryn.
