Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became interested in genealogy 12 + years ago. Wish it had been sooner, as most of the older relatives are now gone. Makes figuring out "puzzles" alot harder. But I do enjoy the hunt. Some of the surnames I am researching are Mace, Robinson/Roberson, Hughes, Wilson and Price from mainly North and South Carolina. Check out my virtual cemeteries. If you recognize any of the names, please leave me a message. Always looking for new cousins.

I am not related to the majority of the entries I have made. If you would like a transfer, regardless of the relationship, just ask and it will be yours. I only ask that you send a sac and please state the relationship. If there is an error in something I have posted or you have other info, just send a sac.

I will not add any current obits per Find a grave FAQs

RE: Payne Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery
All the pictures for the Boone Cemetery are now online. Sorry to say there were no Maces, Prices or Roberts.

RE: Payne Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery
According to the French Broad Baptist Association, the Presbytery met on January 23, 1887 to organize the Payne's Chapel Church. Chief Payne donated a half acre for the building. Construction began in 1904 and finished in 1905. Frank Payne and his son Frank Jr later donated land for the cemetery. Gaither Payne was the first person to be buried in the cemetery. He died on February 20, 1905.

RE: Payne Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery
I went by the Payne Chapel Baptist Church today. To the far left of Jane Price's headstone are about a half-dozen grave sites with just field stones (no engravings on them). So no luck there.

I'm not sure how old the church is or when it was established. Usually they put that kind of information on a plaque or a sign in front of the church, but I didn't see one.

RE: Payne Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery
I went through all the headstone photos I took at Payne Chapel Baptist Church, but didn't see any for George or Hesakiah Price, nor were they listed in Jan Plemmons' survey of Madison County cemeteries. I can go back and check to see if there are any unmarked graves nearby. The cemetery is not that far from where I live.

RE: Payne Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery
Hi Nana. I did photograph all the headstones in the Payne Chapel Baptist Church cemetery, but I haven't uploaded too many yet. Which ones are you looking for? By the way, I found an old cemetery over by Bear Branch Road called Boone Cemetery. See http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2566191. I just started uploading some of the memorials. Some of the graves go back to the late 1800s.

RE: Price tree
Sorry I have taken so long to respond but we left Christmas Day to go to our home in Franklin, NC and have just got back to Fl. I checked and I don't have him in my tree. I have gotten so frustrated with the Price line that I have pretty much given up on it. I so wanted to find were they came from but can't go any further then I have. I have found a lot of people are taking and using my information but nothing new seems to appear. I seem to have reached the end of the road on all my lines, I keep hoping someone with true information will one day contact me but it hasn't happened yet.

Sorry I'm no help,

Janice

New Information on GWH
Nana x4,

I have discovered new information on George Washington Hughes. His Civil War record with the 5th SC CAV ends with him being assigned to an unmounted unit. While I was doing research I discoverd he was transfered to Compant E, 18th SC INF in 1864 and was Gen. Lee at the surrender at Appomattox.

Contact me through my e-mail listed on my Find A Grave page and we will talk some more.

RE: Boiter family cemetery
The coordinates are 34 49'35.72" N 82 01'58.56" W

The cemetery is on a dead end road called Bobcat Lane. The name of the road was changed from Shady Lane Road to Bobcat Lane. Google maps and some of the others still list it as Shady Grove. The road signs have Bobcat Lane.

Go to Google maps, do a search for the coordinates above, zoom in 4 clicks. The green arrow marks the cemetery.

If you have a problem, send me your email address and I'll email maps to you.
