I was born in February of 1948 in Shelbina MO, as was my father before me. I grew up in Pittsfield IL [1949-1957], Danville IN [1957-58], and back to Pittsfield [1959-1962] during elementary school years. I graduated high school in Tuscola IL [1962-1966]. Dad was a Teamster, and his job had us hopping around!|
Jesus Christ is my Savior, my Lord and my reason to live. He has forgiven my sins and rescued me from an aimless and empty life.
I want to honor my forebears with these memorials. Patriarch: Richards, Edward [1678-1755]
of Manchester, Lancashire England and later Hampstead, Maryland.
On my mother's side: the Long family of Frederick County VA.
I welcome any and all communication from "cousins" and fellow descendants.
Anyone's corrections, additions, or suggestions are also welcome. My goal is accuracy and completeness of information on these memorials.

Your welcome. Yes, and I think maybe there may have been one or two with the middle name of Reuben.

My hope in adding information I found to be accurate to any Find A Grave memorial, that someone who is out there hunting will benefit and be able to fill in their family tree with this information. Having grown up at the knees of my mother who has been known around the US teaching research techniques and helping people do their research since the early 1960s through her hundreds of books and publications - so naturally I grew up learning to do research and spend my days when I don't have to earn a living, doing research on my many FTM databases covering my different families and all those who intermarried with them too. I will strive to keep sharing with those who want to know what I find to be helpful. :)

Sent you some information to your home e-mail
|Carol J Carroll||Robert Marion Curry|
Do you know the story of why Robert Marion Curry was executed at Fort Scott Kansas winter 1864. I did find the Fort Scott KS site, showing he was exhumed and reburied in the Union side after 1900.
I'm related from the Jobe's of Vernon Co MO who were neighbors of Elizabeth Curry. Another connection Ruben & Susan Eales Jobe, her sister Davidella Eales married Silas Curry in Vernon Co. I never could find out who he was or what happened to him aft 1883, his name was on a marriage license as a witness for Ellen Jobe, said a relative.

|Jan Akins||Haines Chase Richards & family|
Hello -- love your Richards information. Haines Chase Richards and his family are mostly buried at Mt. Hope in Urbana, Il. My grandfather John Amon Richards is buried at Grandview. Do you have any idea about Joseph G. Richards, who was a civil war soldier who died in 1863 on a hospital boat in Louisana? I have looked and looked for any records about him. He was Haines' older brother. thanks.

|Maria Scipio Metheny||Richards Cemetery|
Hello. My grandmother was Odessa Dever (Dessie) Richards, d/o John Powhatan Richards, s/o Benjamin Powhatan Richards. I would love to visit their family cemetery. Can you give me specific directions to where this cemetery is located? I live in Kanawha County, just west of Charleston. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.

|Diane Clark Smith||RE: Reuben Dennis|
(It appears you are family, too. If you are interested I can send the names of books with history)(But I do want to mention that:)
John Dennis was born 1748 in Charles County, Maryland(not in Ireland). The son of Ignatius Tennison and Elizabeth Nevitt. His first wife died 1796 after 7 children. John then married again but she died about 1795 childless. He then married Elizabeth Cheatwood. The couple had 5 children of which Reuben is the second born.
(My ancestor is Reuben's sister, Harriet, who married Joseph J. Knox. Their son John Dennis Knox traveled from Overton County through Illinois and Missouri to Arkansas by 1880. I suspect they may have come by Morgan County but so far no proof.)
