I retired as a Sergeant with the Leon Co. (Florida) Sheriff's Office in May, 2008. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and often travel (for work and now grave hunting) around southwest Georgia and north Florida.
I recently began to research my ancestors and have been taking pictures of the headstones I knew the location of, for the information. I have also been searching for photos of headstones other folks had posted on various sites. I find that many times, there is not much real information with many of the photo's, such as the location or name of the cemetery. This is often discouraging and I want to give others more information than I often find.
I also find many of the graves I am looking for listed, but there are no photo's. This is very discouraging, especially when the grave is a great distance away.
Hopefully, I can do just a small part to help others by adding the photos I have or that I get in the future.
