There is no way for me to contact your friend. Will you please do me a favor and tell her, I am declining her edit requests, as she did not give any sources for any of the requests.

Many thanks,

I am trying to track down some relatives for a friend. The obituary I found on his grandmother is Barbara Joan McGrew died Nov. 21, 2006 and buried in Parkway Memorial Gardens, I have a feeler out to try and locate that grave and list it. Her parents were John Kelly and Lorena Carter Kelly per the obituary. I found this Maggie Carter Kelly with a husband John. Coincidence?

Sarah Elizabeth Lizzie Griffin Altman
I am doing the tree for The Barber family
Sarah is a descendant Of Obadiah Barber.
In the find a grave information you have Sarah's Mother as Osanna Gertrude "Osie" Strickland Griffin which is correct. I have spoken with her daughter. Do you have any information as to why the grave stone has the Step mother's name on it.
Could it be that at the time The just put on the stone who ever was the "mother" in the house last?

Do you have any actual documentation to prove that Osanna Strickland was the birth mother? It would help settle a lot of arguments if you did. I can not find birth or baptism records to safe my life.

Respectfully, Georgianna Daly

More on the Daniel Asa Royal family
Just a couple more things, in case you do not have this information:

1. Calvin A. Royal moved to Pleasanton in Atascosa County, Texas and died there in 1941 at the age of 81. The Texas death certificate gives his parents' names as Harmon Royal and "Suggs."
2. Henry Royal also moved to Atascosa County, Texas, where he is living on the 1900 census.
3. Franklin Marion Royal also moved to the same location and died there in 1948.
There may be other members of Harmon's family who ended up in Texas that I have not yet found.

Daniel Asa Royal
Hello, Sir.
I am also researching the family of Daniel Asa Royal, s/o Harmon Royal. I appreciate the information you have posted. I have just a couple of comments you might want to consider adding:

1. Harmon's first wife was named Catherine Suggs. I see a daughter named Harriett Suggs and wonder if Suggs is Harriett's middle name or if there is some other explanation that her last name is not Royal.
2. Margaret Taft was a widow when she married Harmon. Her first husband was Robert Roberts, b. about 1834 Ware County, GA.
Info regarding this first husband: He was born to Nicey Roberts. Her husband is thought to probably also have been named Robert Roberts, born about 1800-1815 (cannot find documentation for him other than 1830 & 1840 censuses in which he is not named, but the age is appropriate.) On those censuses, if you wish to look, he is in the home of his father, also Robert Roberts, born about 1773-1775 in GA.
The 1850 census provides the name of the elder Robert Roberts (1773-1775) and his presumed wife Barbara (1775 NC). However, the son presumed to be Robert Roberts b. about 1800-1815 is not listed and the head of household is Nicey Roberts, presumed to be his widow, and 5 sons named: Robert Roberts, b. 1834, married Margaret Taft and died 1861-1864 in Civil War, Gray Roberts, b. 1836, Mark Roberts, b. 1839, Daniel Roberts, b. 1840, and Eli Warren Roberts b. 1843
Now, back to Margaret Taft and Robert Roberts. They had 2 children before Robert died in the Civil War: Roberta Arnetta Roberts, b. 1860-61 and Everet D. Roberts, b. 1858-59. On the 1870 census both Arnetta and Everet are shown in the home of Harmon and Margaret Royal, but they are shown with the last name of Royal rather than Roberts. On the 1880 census, Arnetta is still in the home of Harmon and Margaret, but Everet is living in the home of Jessee Carroll, an elderly gentleman whose relationship I have not established yet. A record of marriages in Coffee County, GA lists Arnetta Roberts marrying John Walker; however, I have been unable to trace them since that date.
If you have any information on Arnetta or Everet, the children of Margaret Royal by her first husband, Robert Roberts, I would be delighted to hear from you. The Royal(s) family are definitely an interesting family and connected to almost every family in southeast Georgia in the 1800s.
Sincerely,
Carol Roberts vcroberts41@gmail.com

Robert "Bobby" Smith Grave
Can you get a picture of his grave site sometime! He was a friend and is not listed as a interned person at Brunswick Memorial Park. He should be near his Mother Annie Earline "Barker" Smith. They are in the Barker plot!
