I started doing genealogy on my family about fifteen years ago. I've met some very generous people along the way whom have helped me in my search. |
I've also come across some very generous volunteers who have transferred family memorials to me without paying heed to the "guidelines." I give them a hearty thank you!!
The definition of guideline is a line by which one is guided according to Webster's Dictionary. Since a guideline is a "non-mandatory" rule then there is no harm in transferring a memorial over to a relative.
I am very concerned when I read, "If it doesn't fall within the guidelines" I will not transfer."
Really? life is way too short to be so serious and unbending. One day your memorial page will likely be up here too. Who do you want taking care of you, a stranger or a relative?
We thank you for taking the time to create and watch over the memorial for whom it was created. It's now time to pass it on to someone who cares.
I will transfer memorials to relatives unless it's my direct ancestor. I would rather see a memorial be taken care of by someone who is related and then they can make the updates/corrections etc. If for some reason, I won't or cannot transfer the memorial over to you, I will give you a better reason than "because it doesn't fall within the guidelines."
Some of the names I'm researching are Morton, Howard, Putnam, Salisbury, Daigle, (Rivard dit) Loranger, Pierson, Frost, del Pulgar (Pulgar), Azcarate, Toledo, Cobb, Ellis, Estes, Cunningham, Graves, Hickman, Moss, Milette, Monette, Lines, Sawyer, Abbey, Cheney, Blodgett, Churchill, Douglass and Endicott, just to name a few.
Please DO NOT post duplicate headstone photos on the memorial pages I have created or manage. There is no reason to have two (or more) headstone photos, unless the one I took is unreadable, which is highly unlikely since I would not post it if it was unreadable or a poor shot.
You are welcome to use any photos that I have taken and posted on FindAGrave on a personal not-for-profit genealogical Web site so long as I am given photo credit for it and Find A Grave is referenced.

Thank you for your kind words. I always try to make corrections as quickly as possible even when they were not as easy as they are now. I know from personal experience that when I am working on a family, it's hard sometimes to know what you have requested and what you haven't and when someone takes the full 30 days to correct something, it can be very frustrating. My granddaughter's wedding was on May 10 and what a beautiful wedding it was! Of course she looked fantastic and it was so nice to have most of the family all in one place at the same time! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire time and being with family. Cannot believe I am old enough to have a grandchild old enough to get married!! Where has all the time gone?

Yes, she was a beauty and a socialite as well! She was very active and loved to entertain in her home. I am a direct descendant of Jodie.

|Suzy-in-the-Skye||RE: Gatiss at Conrad Cemetery, Montana|
many thanks for your message about my GATISS relatives buried at Conrad Cemetery. Firstly let me say a big thank you for all your hard work in photographing & uploading them to this site. Without your efforts, there would be no way I would ever get to see such memorials, as I live in the UK & chances of me ever getting out to Montana would be very slim indeed.
I am not quite sure what you mean by "transferring" them over to me, but I would be more than happy to "take care" of them on this site, if that is what you mean. Please advise. I look forward to hearing from you.
With very kind regards,
