I have been an amateur genealogist for many decades, and never tire of it. Puzzles challenge me. Guess it is the "thrill of the chase". I especially delight in helping beginners get started. |
Surnames I am researching and their primary locations:
New England and midwest: Hunt, Baldwin, Bigelow, Collins, Rose, Adams, Burket(t), French, Plant
Virginia/North Carolina: Campbell, Collins
Ohio and Oklahoma - Klintworth, Scherer, Schuler, Schultheis
Kentucky, Tennessee and beyond: Adkins/Atkins, Bertram (aka Butram, Buttram, Butrum, Buttrum, etc.), DeRossett/DuRossett, Brown (from ancestor Michael Brown of TN & KY, circa 1800-1858), Adkins, Owen(s), Rigney, Stinson, Shelton.
Missouri and Kentucky - Collins, Nations
I would love to hear from anyone else researching these names.

Hi! My name is Andrea, Myrtle was my great grandmother. My mother is Adrienne Cobb - daughter of Ralph Waldo, We are looking for a copy of The Bertram Book that she was a co author on. If you could point me in the right direction to find this book it would be much appreciated.
|L.B.||RE: Jordan Boyatt, III|
I do research on all Scott County Families.
I do have his grandfather as a Jordan (abt 1770 - abt 1818) his wife was Elizabeth.
Residence: 1805 Anderson County, TN (he was deliquient with poll tax) and 1810 Census has him in Wayne County, KY
He was a long hunter with the Martin Beatty party which came from French Lick, Indiana.
I do not know where I got the above except the poll tax thing came from website pbase.com
That is as far as I have on the Boyatt's.
I understand that this cemetery is located in the Big South Fork and you have to first go to Fentress County then back into Scott County to reach it. The trip is 33 and 1/2 miles from Oneida.

I would like to thank you for being my friend on Find A Grave and for helping others to be remembered through this wonderful site. Over the past 26 days I've lost both my father, James Edward Stevens # 155595233 and step-father, Thomas Gordon "Tom" Benton, Sr. # 154670266 to cancer. If you have time I would appreciate if you would leave a virtual flower on their memorials to honor their lives. Thank you for all you do, your friend, Cadmus.

|Virginia Lee 'Ginny' Courtney Moss||Carrie Blunk|
Hello, I found this posting about Carrie tonight. She was my daddy's Aunt. (We always called them Aunt Carrie and Uncle Dick.) My daddy was Thomas O. Courtney, and his mother was Annie Olive Freeman Courtney, Carrie's sister.
Thomas Edward Courtney and Annie are buried in Granby, MO. I wondered if you have any knowledge or have found any articles about Annie? She died when my daddy was 8 years old. Daddy's sister, Jean B. Courtney Wilkerson was only 7.
Thomas E. and Annie have a headstone in the Grandby Memorial Center in Grandby, MO. Aunt Carrie and Uncle Dick had a lovely old home there when I was just in my early years, before they moved to Sapulpa.
I would love to know of any history that you may know of them. Thanks.
Ginny Courtney Moss

I looked at the memorial, and there are no links on the page for me to delete it. I'd guess you'd have to contact find a grave to have an administrator to delete it. I'm not sure how to do that.

As far as the name Burrows, I have no idea what you are talking about. I did not know the Butrums, I just posted the memorial from the stone at the cemetery.
