Feel free to contact me with any corrections or additions to my listings! |
Please use the "Edit" tab for making changes to data fields; and select "suggest any other correction or addition" to:
1) Add other info outside the data fields
2) To (optional) provide documentation for changes
3) To request a memorial transfer
I'm happy to transfer individuals unrelated to my family (or more closely related to you), or if you have some special interest in them.
Gravestone photos which I have taken may be freely used for any legitimate genealogical or historical purpose. Please click on the photo to make sure that it's mine, and that I did not just add it; I will credit original photographer.
Please also feel free to add more photos to the memorials - portraits, snapshots, etc. If you need more photo slots just let me know; if you have a better gravestone picture I'm fine with deleting mine.
And here's a standing "Thank you" to the usual suspects, for sending corrections, links & additional info for the local memorials; I know your work is impeccable!
**PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INFO!**
Primary focus is documenting West Aurora Cemetery. Nearly all marked graves now have photos posted; a few fallen, broken, and overgrown stones still need to be identified and photographed. (About half of the documented burials are known to be unmarked.) Please check out the "unknowns" if you are missing a family member who you think might be buried at West Aurora!

I appreciate your prompt attention to linking Lucy Keene with her parents. Thank you.

|Traci's Mom||Token you left for Traci Fields|
Thank you very much for the token you left for my angel daughter Traci. She was a wonderful gift from GOD, and she's in my heart and mind every single day. Her passing has left major holes in the hearts of her family and friends.
I appreciate you helping to reach my goal of 5,000 tokens by her birthday, November 20th. Actually, thanks to you and other findagravers, so far today Traci has received 6,026 flowers/tokens. That makes my family and I extremely happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I'm thankful and blessed for your kindness. GOD bless you for your heavenly heart.
I am so overwhelmed with all the findagrave friends requesting flowers/tokens for my Traci. Thank you ever so much!
This is something I wrote for Traci:
It was a cold, quiet night at the cemetery. The snow was falling gently to the ground. The only sound that could be heard was the whistling of the wind. Off in the distance I suddenly heard the tiny sound of jingling bells. I looked around and wondered where the life was in the stillness of this cemetery.
As I gazed around, I saw a ray of moonbeam shining down on a small Christmas tree.
I thought to myself, "This is where the life is in the cemetery!"
Ring the bells this holiday season in memory of those you love.
Sharon (Traci's mom)
|Jennifer Madison||Electa Nelson|
Did you send me the edit requests for Electa Nelson? I think that one of them did not go through.
I wasn't able to go thru the entire cemetery but will get back there next week to look for more Smith stones and take a photo of the plot. The place is ruled by giant bees!
|Kathy Robinson||Herbert Stauffer|
I'm sorry, but I thought I had the photo you requested for Herbert Stauffer, but I took a photo of his father's tombstone. I will try to get it next time I go to Green Pond Cemetery.....I wasn't paying attention when I took it - I was excited I found a "Herbert Stauffer" and didn't realize it wasn't the one you wanted:( Maybe I'll have better luck next time! Again, I apologize.

Lisa, Thank you sooo much for the transfer!
It is much appreciated.

Received your message about the changes for this memorial, but when I checked, the information now matches my records. It all looks good. Thanks!
|My Labor of Love||RE: Hiram Hopkins|
I'm glad you caught this. It was late, here's the information for the surname Hopkins at Root Street Cemetery from the Aurora Master Plots:
Hopkins Herman 25-Aug-1849
Hopkins Harriet 15-Aug-1868
Hopkins Robert 18-Oct-1865
Hopkins Milton 15-Feb-1860
After Hopkins was Howland, I misread it, I thought it was another Hopkins.
Howland Hiram J 17-May-1863
I'm assuming that Herman Hopkins should be Hiram? Mine's already deleted. When I searched solders that served in the War of 1812, there's no Herman, but there are 2 Hirams.

Distant cousins. Would probably be better to wait until a family member more closely related laid claim to memorial --- that way they could add more info and such. Thanks for the offer. About new system....no notification if you have edits to make. I found the tab totally by accident! Yikes! Now check every couple of days.
