RE: Pemberton family
Hi Richard,
Do you have access to ancestry.com? The 1870 census for Saline County lists Richard, wife Lucy A., dau Delitha and John Lee. There is a marriage record for Richard and Lucy on the Illinois Marriage Index in Saline County, IL. Some of the family trees list Richard and Nancy and list their death location as Tennessee. These could be two different people, but my guess is that after Nancy died, Richard married Lucy A. and had another family--all of which are buried in New Hope cemetery together. The other two daughters listed on F.A.G. would not show up on the census records because they died in infancy. The dates I have listed for Richard, Lucy and children come from the headstone listing of Saline County Cemeteries Vol III. I will put in a picture request for these memorials and see what we come up with. If the picture request is fulfilled, I will contact you again or if you have any other questions or information, feel free to stay in touch.
Thanks. Sharon

Pemberton family
Hi Richard,
Would you please provide me with the information you have on Richard Pemberton, so that I can compare him to the Richard I have buried in New Hope cemetery. I do believe that the family members buried in New Hope are correct, but you were correct that some of the dates were wrong. I guess the headstones were difficult to read. I have asked that the other volunteer correct one the the children's dates also. Thanks for contacting me.
