I have been climbing around|
on my Family Tree, swinging
on it's branches, and digging
at it's roots for over
30 years, (since 1975).
I have been widowed since 1991, retired in 2005.
I LOVE Find-A-Grave. It is a wonderful
asset to the genealogy world.
If I've created a record that someone
needs to correct, update or add
information, please let me know and
I'll be glad to add your information
for you;... or if the person is your
direct family member, and you would
like to have me transfer "ownership"
of that memorial page to you, please
let me know...If that person is not
directly related to me and they are
directly related to you; I will be
glad to transfer their memorial to
you. However, I want to note:
Nearly all of the memorials that I
have created are connected to my
family tree and are a result of a
lot of years hard work and research.
To all the members who have been
kind enough to transfer "ownership"
of my family members to me....
I THANK YOU!
Find A Grave is one of my favorite
It has given me a place that I can
remember my loved ones and honor
If you have time, please leave a flower
for my dear husband, Roy E. Hughes.
I just lost my Daddy & Momma
within 3 weeks. Please be patient,
I am way behind in answering request.

|Johnny A. Mc Laughlin||JAMES WILLIAM CLARDY|
I was looking for some information on one of James Clardy's children by his second wife, and pulled him in in Findagrave to see if there were any links. I noticed that you had James Bennett Clardy & Mary Elizabeth Riley as his parents. James Bennett Clardy was actually his uncle. William Henry Clardy & Martha Etta Vaughn were his parents. William Henry & James Bennett's parents were James Calhoun & Mariah Gaines Clardy. James William Clardy & Sarah Isabell Floyd Clardy were my GG Grandparents.
|Jeff Painter||Mary Powell Painter|
My name is Jeff Painter and I just found this website and have found it to be very helpful. I was wondering what is your relationship to Mary Powell Painter. Via this site I just found out that she is my great great grandmother on my fathers side. I am helping my niece trace our ancestors and the Painter side of the family seems to have a lot of dead ends. I was wondering if you have any additional information about Mary Powell Painter or her son Marten Painter, or her daughter in law Hester Painter.
Any help you might have would be great!
|Judith Parker-Proctor||45082427- Joseph Carroll|
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your parents, I am so very sorry.
Regarding memorial 45082427, do you know if he was the same Joseph Carroll who was sheriff of Cleveland County, NC from 1848-1852? Our current Sheriff Alan Norman is looking for info & a photo of his predecessors. I'm thinking this fellow buried just across the county line in Lincoln county is our former sheriff. I am saddened that his tombstone is now destroyed. If you have any info Sheriff Norman he is asking that we call 704 484 4888.
|labwriter||Sorry for the tone|
I'm sorry if my two messages to you sound like I'm irritated. It's so easy for bad information to get disseminated, and it's so hard to get rid of bad information once it's out there. I've worked on these families in Carter County for years. There are so many issues with these cemeteries--small, hard to find, multiple cemeteries with the same name (7 Campbell Cemeteries here at find-a-grave in Carter County), and then all the graves that were removed because of the TVA Watauga project in the 1940s. I would like to be able to create a memorial page for every one of these dear people, but some of them I just know I will never find. I have a feeling that you are of like mind. Most important, though, is getting the information right. Thank you for listening to my rants. All the best, labwriter
|labwriter||Nathaniel Taylor Campbell|
I have the same issue with Nathaniel Taylor Campbell's memorial page (#140955498) that I have with Charles Carter Campbell's (#140946862). I've done extensive research on this family. Perhaps you have too. Not only do I not know where Nathaniel is buried, I don't know that I or anyone else knows for sure in what year he died. You have posted a specific year of death for him (1845). Also, you have posted that he was born in Virginia, when tax records are clear that his father, Jeremiah Campbell Sr. (1762-1843) was on the tax rolls of Carter County by at least 1796. If Nathaniel was born in 1803, as all the records that I'm aware of say that he was, then he was born in Carter County, Tennessee. Do you have specific information and evidence that Nathaniel was buried in the Campbell Cemetery on Rittertown Road? If you do, would you please post that evidence on his memorial page? If you don't have evidence of his burial place, but simply think that he "might" have been buried there, just because his son Alfred J Campbell is buried there, then I respectfully ask that you remove Nathaniel's memorial. Thank you. "labwriter", contributor #47091612
|labwriter||Charles Carter Campbell|
This is about the memorial page you created for Charles Carter Campbell, memorial #140946862. I wonder if you could please document the evidence you have that he is buried in this Campbell Cemetery? His death record states only that he was buried in a "Family Cemetery." I've visited this very out of the way cemetery, and I'm pretty much aware of every one of the gravestones in the cemetery that readable. None of those are for Charles Carter Campbell. The cemetery also has what looks to be many fieldstone markers, but I don't know if anyone knows what graves those fieldstones mark. If you have evidence for Charles being buried in this cemetery, could you please post it on his memorial page? That would be a wonderful find, if it exists. However, if you don't have evidence that he is buried here, then I respectfully ask that you remove this memorial. Thank you very much. "labwriter," contributor #47091612.
