Hello. My name is Diane. I found this site by accident while trying to look up some information at the Riverside National Cemetery about my beloved late husband. Of course I found no real information. |
I have been able to put a memorial for him on this site and that has been such a comfort to me. I am now trying to add names of loved ones for other people so that they too can find some peace by visiting the "site" of their loved ones final "resting place".
If you notice that I have incorrect information or you can add more information than I have, please use the edit tab on the memorial to send a correction or suggestion so that I know what memorial you are referring to. I am trying to be as accurate as possible for the families. As I get most of my information from newspaper obits -errors can and do occur. God Bless you all.
Please Note: I get a lot of request for information about the Gilliam family from all 50 states. Whenever I come across a memorial with the name "Gilliam" on it - I leave a flower on the site. I am not related to most of these people but I leave a little something just in case they are long lost relatives or related somehow through marriage. It makes me feel good to do this. Most of my relatives are from North Carolina.

I would like to add some photos but I'm not sure what it means to send it over to me. I found this site by accident, I was looking for another person and I found that There was a grave for my sister! I live very far from where she was buried so this just wonderful. I was just wondering how you found out about her.
|Isabelle Etchebarren ||Thanks|
Thank you for putting my sister's grave here on the website.Her name was Yolanda Barrientos Jarquin.

Not a problem Diane. My cousin, who is one of the soldiers in that photo on the page (top row, 2nd from right), asked me to go and take a photo with that sign and some flowers. I lucked out and the flowers will be there until Thursday as it was the day after flower pickup and they just mowed the lawn. I found out that I made my cousin cry, and he doesn't do that often. My cousin got out of the Marines when his time was served and then got into the Army Reserves. He was just promoted to SSG yesterday :D
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Diane, I have been researching the Gilliam family and saw your name on Jimmie's page. Are you related to Jimmie? My mom was Jimmie's cousin.

I see your last name is Gilliam, are you related to Gil Gilliam? He used to be married to Manena she passed away some years ago I don't know his new wife's name I understand they are separated or they were. I know he has a son who would be about 40 something and he has a daughter too but I don't know her age. He now lives in Northern CA. What was your Grandma's name?

I also found this site by accident and yes, Charlotte Schwander is my mom. I thought I would take a look, and imagine that, she had been added to this site by you. I am extremely appreciative of that.
My grandmother on my dad's side, Elva Schwander, had already been added by some very nice person and had an actual photo of her headstone. How very nice this was to see.
I just recently became a member and joined this site when I learned I could add my dad, Keith Schwander, since he wasn't already listed. I also added photos of their headstone and wedding picture of my mom and dad as they are buried in the same plot. These loved ones, all buried at Desert View Memorial Park in Victorville, California, are my entire immediate family as I have no brothers or sisters. So now all is complete, and they all can be viewed by their grand kids and me if we desire. This is very comforting since I reside approx 125 miles away from where they had been living and where they are buried.
I don't know if I need the transfer of maintenance because you and another volunteer have done a fine job already, but if you wish to ease your burden, you may transfer it to me. As I said before, now with the addition of my dad and correct dates and photos, all is complete. Thank you very much for contacting me.
Sincerely, - Dennis Schwander

I located my mother Barbara Karpinski's memorial and so thankful for what you've done. I would like to request from you to transfer her memorial to me. I would love to be able to manage this for her and make it a site for all my family to visit. I am now managing her sister's memorial, as well as her parents and grandparents. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Sorry about that. Did you know Doris Crowder Gilliam, the one you added the grave info on?
