I am a S Louisianan transplanted to NW Louisiana. I grew up on the Amite River where the mouth of the river merges with Lake Maurepas. This is where 5 generations of my ancestors fished, trapped and hunted. Our family has always had a camp/home on the Amite River.|
I grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, shrimping, crabbing and loving the life of a "river rat" raised kid. ~
The Amite River and Lake Maurepas are where my heart and memories lie as well as my generations of my ancestors. They left a part of themselves on the river, banks and all of its waterways (swamp runs). I am sure that they loved the river as much as my Dad and me. ~
It is the one place that I continue to love more than any other place on earth. As the ashes from my earthly body are to released to become a part of the wind and water -so my spirit can soar up to the Heavens. ~
I will have a memorial marker placed @ Davidson Cemetery next to my Mom and Dad ~

I posted two photos on the memorial for Christopher Weimer. The flag was on the grave, so I left it in the photos as I thought it a nice tribute to him. If you'd like me to crop it out, or send you the photo to crop, I'll be glad to do so.

You are very welcome Elaine and it was no problem at all. I am in that area quite often and wanted to attend a funeral this morning @ Resthaven of a family I knew and grew up with but must be elsewhere at that time.
The weather has prevented me from clearing out two overgrown areas @ Harelson Cemetery, which is very near to Resthaven Cemetery. I have relatives buried in both cemeteries. My goal is to get in there (Harelson) and clean/clear out the brush, etc., before Spring arrives with all the new growth.

|Gloria Bello||RE: Request a transfer or Richard Joseph Munson|
I transferred him to you. Perhaps you can do the other links.
|Cory||RE: Thank You for the Transfer|
You are very welcome for the transfer! I called Resthaven today to get your father-in-law's exact location. I walked that entire cemetery last year and could not even begin to remember where they are both buried. As soon as I get a photo for his marker, I will post it on the memorial you have created for him.
My friends and I spent many hours on the Amite and Comite rivers in the seventies. We were crazy and would tube and/or canoe both of them when they exceeded the flood stage. Like you I have many good memories of our local rivers.
My Dad lives in Killian and just recently had a birthday. He is now almost 80 and can still ride a wheelie on a motorcycle down the street where he lives! He looks and acts a lot younger than he actually is. It's kinda funny because when I was 30 I had to show my ID to prove I was of age. Now I'm over 50 and have to show ID to get my senior discount!
Hope and pray that you and your family get to move back down here soon! I know how much you miss not being back home.

I made the transfer of Myrtle Munson Borskey to Contributor # 47963717 as requested.
I see you went ahead and added her husband @ Resthaven Cemetery. I will be near that cemetery Tuesday of this week. I will stop by and try to get a photo of his marker for you and add it to his memorial, if the weather allows.
Hope you guys are doing okay with the water rising near Lower Rome. My Dad lives near Terry Harbor. He is high and dry but sometimes the road(s) getting back there goes under. I love the pic on your profile page. I spent a lot of time as a child at my grandparents camp in Bay St. Louis. My favorite thing was to catch crabs and to have a crab boil. Crawfish are good but crabs are far better, like comparing pork chops to steak!
God's best to you and yours Elaine!
