I am very fond of exploring cemetery grounds but the majority of the memorials I have created are gathered from a handful of reference books compiled of the entire record listings from individual cemeteries. I tend to gather records from towns in Franklin County that are close by to my home such as Jay, Wilton, Canton and Farmington if I can, and a bit of Androscoggin County as well: the town of Livermore and Livermore Falls.|
It is a rewarding experience for me to help people locate their ancestors and lost loved ones. God bless! :)
Your tombstone stands among the rest, Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out...On old gray granite stone.
It reaches out to all who care...It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist...You died...and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you...In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse...Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled...One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left...Who would have loved you so.
I wonder when you lived and loved; I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot...And come and visit you.

I noticed you recently added the memorial of Courtney Hammond Crommett and was wondering if you were at the cemetery & took pictures? I'm looking for photos of her grandparents (Phyllis (Hammond) & Herbert Crommett) headstone(s) who are buried in section 4 lot 437, as well.
|Elisa Rolle||RE: Grace Frick|
In 1939 Yourcenar's intimate companion at the time, the literary scholar and Kansas City native Grace Frick, invited the writer to the United States to escape the outbreak of World War II in Europe. Yourcenar lectured in comparative literature in New York City and Sarah Lawrence College. Yourcenar was bisexual; she and Frick became lovers in 1937 and remained together until Frick's death in 1979. After ten years spent in Hartford, Connecticut, they bought a house in Northeast Harbor, Maine on Mount Desert Island, where they lived for decades. They are buried in twin tombstone side by side.
Yes, I think you can say they were "homosexuals" and 42 years together.
Regards, Elisa Rolle
|Batwench||RE: Mabel F and Edward J McCormick|
I can't remember if I replied to this or not. Edward Joseph McCormick died July 1953. I believe he died in Greenwich CT and was moved up to Maine by Mabel F to her family plot. I do not have her maiden name.
Thanks a bunch for your help

Edward's death is July 1953.I was told he died in Greenwich CT and was brought back to Maine to be buried in Mabel's family plot. That is really all I know. I don't have any info on Mabel.
Thank you for getting back to me.
Have a great day

|Richard Bragg||RE: Rich Cemetery - Livermore|
I have evidence it's the Adkins Hines Cemetery in Canton. F.A.G. shows it's 97% photographed (which doesn't necessarily mean all the graves), but the Drake monument was photographed with his parents, Elisha & Zibeah. I'm thinking William Henry could be listed on a different side of the monument.
Thanks if you are going to get over there and check it out - it is highly appreciated!

Hi there..I just have a question about the Stanley Cemetery and was hoping you might be able to help me. You set up a Memorial for one of my Guptills in that cemetery and noticed that in the "bio" for the cemetery there is nothing..not even a photo or location for it. Was hoping that maybe you lived in the area and had some information..thank you in advance for your time..Sincerely, Wendy
