I transferred the picture of the headstone to your memorial and deleted mine.
|Reverend Larry||Charles Smith|
Memorials 37559723 and 37559727.
I have photographed around 80% of GAR and have pictures for 70% of the headstones uploaded to Find a Grave. I hope to come across the "Headstone" that Karen took to determine the area it is in. Once I have pictures for all of the headstones uploaded, I will check for duplicates and ask the cemetery staff if they can assist in solving your question and a few hundred others. The original set up of memorials came from the cemetery, so I would think that there is a good chance that there are two Charles Smiths.
Sorry I can not be of any additional help at this time. GAR has over 10,000 memorials and it takes a while. Been working on it since September.

Hello, Is anyone in your family related to the famous Ft.Sumter, Maj. Robert Anderson, b. 6.14.1850 and d. 10.26.1871? He died in Nice, France. His FATHER is RICHARD CLOUGH ANDERSON, b 1.12.1750 in VA and d 10.16.1826, KY. See FG #6940202. R.Clough Anderson had 2 wives, Catherine Fox and Sarah Marshall.
Sarah is Maj. Robert Anderson's mother. Catherine Fox is his stepmother.
I noticed the family of James M. Hite, Jr. left virtual flowers on FG 40540599, for Robert Anderson, b 1.1.1712 and d 12.19.1792. His spouse is Elizabeth Clough Anderson 1722-1779. How are they related to Richard Clough Anderson of FG 6940202?
I know there are R.Clough Anderson Sr. & Jr., so this can be confusing.
If you go to geni.com/people and put in Richard Clough Anderson, his family pop up.
My husband was told in a letter, that he is related to Maj. R. Anderson of Ft. Sumter. We are trying to connect these dots. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Talk to you soon.

Good Morning! I have transferred Miss Nancy to you. I'm so glad Family has found her! I have taken pictures of all the Headstones out in Potters' Field at Union Highland Cemetery, and Miss Nancy must not have a Headstone as there is no photo. Take care, and good Family hunting!

You're more than welcome - circumstances in this cemetery make fulfilling existing photo requests ... challenging, so I've decided to take lots of pics, pretty much at random, adding them to memorials. I honestly don't recall Mr. Hite's marker specifically, except that he's not in a columbarium at all, but an in-ground tombstone.
