Green Cemetery
I went to Green Cemetery yesterday in search of a family grave. It was overgrown and in need of attention. I did find a family marker and would love to have seen more if i could have gotten further back in the cemetary. Do you know if there are any volunteer cleanup days planned? I would love to be apart of a cleanup group to help preserve such an under appreciated historical site.

RE: Green Cementary
John, past and present residents of Tarrant formed a group to update the history, I live inmy so while researching I found the Green cementary and have gone and recored all the info I can get on the known graves there...Ray Songer is headinf our group and he went there but so dangerous to park but did so but the place is so overgrown and he couldn't dare go in..He checked with city hall to see if private property, etc and was told a person was in charge of cleaning up Green and another cementary where the Tarrants are buried..we are staying on this to get it in order and declared a historical site..I've researched Mr. Goldsmith Hewitt, and Hewitt that started school in Trusville, that is where Ray Songer lives...the person inTarrant that is working so hard for quite awhile on renewal of Tarrant, it is so run down, is Fireman Chief Hewitt..the name Hewitt pops up all over..I would like to stay in touch with you, so please take the lead and email me, i'm 80 and computer I'll update you on what is happening. take care
