Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always had an interest in family history & genealogy. Several years ago I actively engaged in discovering my "roots", and joined Find A Grave in 2011 as part of my discovery process. I have benefited from the labors of others and decided to pay it forward by becoming a contributor to the Find A Grave website with a desire to help others locate the final resting places of their ancestors.

I am happy to transfer a memorial per Find A Grave Guidelines, or make any corrections or updates to a specific memorial as needed. Please send your request(s) using the EDIT button on the respective memorial.

I spend many hours tracking info, obits, family connections, etc., when I post a memorial for someone and try not to post a memorial with just a date of birth and a date of death. I take a personal interest in each memorial and endeavor to treat that person as if they were my "family". It is never my intention to offend anyone and I do my best to never duplicate a memorial. Please accept my contribution to Find A Grave as it is intended; to "Preserving The Past" with a sincere heart toward the legacy and memory of a person or their family.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE: I am the "Grammy" of three precious grandchildren. My daughter and three little grandchildren are my "cemetery search" assistants. They love going with me to locate grave markers. My daughter and six year old grandson, who loves photography, assist me by helping to take the photo's and my other grandchildren tag along for the "adventure". It is great seeing the interest they are showing in the effort to help others find their ancestors.

**My oldest daughter, Amanda, went to her heavenly home on October 24, 2006. She was a new bride of only three weeks and three days, (home one week from her honeymoon) when she lost her life in a car accident. Please take a moment and visit her memorial page; ~ AMANDA RENEE ~ Thank you and God Bless You and Yours!

"Because we know the Lord Jesus, death is not the end. It is merely as if I went to sleep in the adjacent room.

I go on being me, and you go on being you, and we go on being the same to one another.

Talk to me as you once did, speaking as you did before.

Go on smiling as if I were still here. Think of me, pray for me and ensure my name is always spoken in a natural manner, without shadows surrounding it.

Death is a part of life and I still go on in your heart, even when you do not see me, I will always be by your side.

Until we meet again ~ life must go on and all will be well."

Charles H Polston
Thanks greatly for your prompt response and offer of the death cert. I have a copy of that; I was curious whether or not this made the papers, etc. I could find no record. Thanks again and perhaps the info you provided from the family is all that was ever available other than the death certificate. The ol' Doc that wrote "homicide" did not make it too clear did he?

First off, let me thank you for all your efforts, you are a truly caring individual.
I am trying to find how you obtained some info on a person I am researching Charles Houston Polston #109143266. In the body of the message you stated that Charles was murdered while at work as a jailer in Davidson CO, Nashville, TN. I would like to obtain some documentation of this, not that I doubt what you wrote, I would just like an outside, additional source. If it came from a newspaper or something, I would like to research and find it.
I hope you understand my request and are not offended.
Thanks in advance for your reply and your efforts.

Charles B. Calvert Spouse

This listing of my great aunt's father in law lists Lucy Harrison Dorsey as his spouse, while she is the spouse of Charles B. Calvert, Jr.

the spouse of Charles B. Calvert (1843-1906) is Eleanor Mackubin (1845-1932)

That is what I found on

Thank you.

Find-A-Grave has him buried in the Moore-Johns Cemetery in Clinton County Ohio. I've been to the cemetery but haven't found the stone. Grown up in weeds and most stones are laying flat of buried. I'm researching all casualties of all wars for Clinton County. Find-A-Grave lists him as a Civil War Veteran. I haven't been able to find a reference showing that. Do you have anything that shows he was a Civil War Veteran? Any help would be appreciated,

John Rose
