On August 12, 2013, in order to bypass traffic backed up from a wreck, I drove down a road I had never been on before. (We had only lived in this area a short time.) I was surprised and excited when I rounded a curve in the road and came upon a cemetery with my husband's family name on it--the Pate-Sanders Cemetery. Although we have not yet been able to establish any connection between the Pates in that cemetery and my husband's family, the discovery did lead to a renewed interest in trying to fill in some blanks and make some corrections in our family trees and also led to the discovery of Find A Grave. I have already made contact, through Find A Grave, with several distant relatives on both my side and my husband's side of the family so this has been an exciting journey so far.|
Going back a few generations, surname's on my side of the family include Clinton, Werhan, Cross, Deaver, Glenn, Murray, Johnston, Taylor, Bradshaw, Fosdick, Phillips, Cathey, Spane, Reiss, Wharton, Singleton, Eastridge, and Roark.
On my husband's side of the family, surname's include Pate, Judd, Trantham, Mosley, George, Lewis, Miller, Williams, Willard, Baty, Moore, Miller, Ford, Tillman, Gann, Gresham, Markham, Perkins, Wilson, Crooks, and Maulding.
Although I am new to genealogy research, and our trees are not as complete as many, I would be glad to share any information I might have.

Count me as another cousin you've discovered through Findagrave. I too have discovered many whom I would never have found otherwise. So, welcome to the Findagrave family and happy hunting, your cuz Barbara Bland

Never mind! I thought it was one I managed but feel free to use the photograph!
|Catherine Hosea||Re: Memorial #93096352 Eliza Ann Spain Taylor|
Certainly! I can also transfer the memorial to you!
|Carole Eastridge Waters||RE: Henry Eastridge, memorial #93388907|
According to my calculations we connect 4 ways,the closest being through Henry and Elizabeth Floyd Eastridge and are 5th cousins once removed. The others are through the Roarks. I think someone else has already asked you but will verify... Do you know who put the designation on this page indicating Henry was the son of John? Are you on Facebook? I have an Eastridge Family Group on there which is nearly 600 members strong. Email might be more convenient... email@example.com
Nice to meet you cousin!

Thank you so much!
& Yes, that is one reason I Requested the photo, I know that she passed away sometime between 1992 & 1994, but I just don't know the exact date.
I really appreciate y'all stopping by the cemetery and getting a photo. It means a lot!❤❤❤

They called her that because she married John H. Tarr after Bud's dad.
She died 15 Mar 1967 in Oilton, OK probably. Don't know for sure.
John Tarr died in 1948 in Oilton but neither he nor Bertha have Find A Grave memorials.
If you find out where she's buried, please let me know.

Memorials for the Mayes family have been transferred. I am related to Bud via his mother, Bertha Houx Mayes.
Always willing to transfer to interested family members.

Maxine - Thank you so much for your kind offer. However, I have discovered that the family has not, as yet, placed a marker on the grave. I assume they eventually will and may be back in touch to take you up on your offer at that time. Take care. - Ev Kurhajetz (Reston, VA)
