RE: Amelia Hosey Beggs
Hi Ricky,

Sorry for not answering your message sooner. Although Robert W.'s patronymic was Beggs, his father, Alexander, who was born a Beggs, went by Baggs after moving to AR from IL. But to answer your question more specifically, Amelia Hosey's husband chose to revert to the original Beggs spelling when he reached adulthood. My branch of the Beggs line changed to Biggs around 1880. Baggs, Biggs, and Boggs are all variations that descendants of Alexander Beggs (1754-1837)have chosen to take. Robert W. Beggs was my first cousin four times removed. If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to contact me at shov@sbcglobal.net. Nice to her from you. gb

John Brazier Hosey
After looking at the 1850 census in Servier Co., AR and finding there wre 6 Hosey children, I find no way that my John Cicero Hosey could be the father of these children.

Unknown father of John Brazier Hosey
I believe I have a lead as to the father of John Brazier Hosey. Jesse Hosey (Hosea) b. 1782 NC married Delila Brasher (was spelled Brazier in earlier years). They had a child named John Cicero Hosey on according to the 1830 census in Shelby Co., AL (now Talladega Co.) that was born between 1825-1830 in AL or TN. He was born abt. 1829 and died 9/27/1849. I have no information as to a marriage or children, but he would have been at least 20 years of age when he died.

Have you any additional information on her and her husband Benjamin May?

Several years back I visited Buckrange cemetery and was unsuccessful in finding a headstone mostly because it was overgrown.

Hi Rickie, sorry I did not see the 2011 date on this message from find a grave, for me a big senior moment. Do take note of the postcard I mentioned if you did not receive it from Sue Perry. Her grandfather was a McDaniel that has a memorial stone for him at Schaal.

have a good day
