Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family is from Frametown Wv., Braxton Co. & surrounding areas. I focus on Braxton Co. mostly & also West Virginia in general however i live in Ohio. For the past 10 years I have been researching my family, photographing & transcribing cemeteries, doing lookups for others & basically anything & everything to do with genealogy. I love this & am very happy to help anyone that I can in the process. I am always looking to connect with any Frame relatives.

My memorials are added with the information directly from a stone & if I have additional information, it will be added also. I have been working with cemetery records for a long time so I know a bit of what I am doing. I do make mistakes though too, I am a human & dont always catch it. The amount of memorials I have added is in no way a race to see who can get the most. I add them to help others & to help insure the most complete & accurate records as possible. Generally I am adding a complete cemetery with a few exceptions now & then.

I am happy to transfer memorials, unless they are my family as well.

Please send all edits through the edit tab, it is the easiest & most efficient way to send any corrections or additions to memorials.

Often I will add death certificates, it is fully within FAG guidelines. They not only help others but also add to the record of death, which is what FAG is for. It is not a site for 'remembering or celebrating a persons life'. Your personal preference on if they look tacky or uncaring has no bearing on me adding them. I will only remove them if you are the immediate relative but if you are rude to me about it, I will not remove it at all & ignore you. A little niceness goes a long way with me as I am a very nice person & expect to be treated with a little common decency & respect.

I have updated her memorial. I have left the death year as 1916 because that is what is recorded in the Braxton County Courthouse and matches census information. I linked her to her parents. :-) They are buried in Flatwoods Cemetery.

Thanks for the correction on the one still living. Sometimes I make mistakes, or it happens when I upload bulk memorials when doing a whole cemetery. So that one is deleted.

I transferred the other one to you! Thanks for the request, and thanks for doing whole cemeteries! I enjoy doing that before all the old ones are gone and not readable! So I spend a day or week just mowing rows of pictures and comparing with transcriptions or cemetery record books!

You Rock!

Thank you
I want to let you know how much I appreciate all the work you've done and shared. I am researching my husband's family, which must be your family. All the Frames, Boggs, Hamricks, Keeners, Dobbins, Greens, Clendenins, Foxes,... these are all very familiar names to me. My husband is a Womer, through the Dobbins/Frames. I have found a lot of information that helps me.
Thanks again

RE: Siers @ Bail Cemetery
Yes, that helps. A.M. Siers is husband of Rebecca Jane Siers. I just wanted to be certain it was same man. Thanks for the help!

Regarding my previous message, A.M. Sears not Siers. His name is spelled Sears on the memorial and his wife's name is spelled Siers. Both spellings were used throughout the 1800's.

Siers @ Bail Cemetery
You had listed some Siers at this cemetery in Braxton Co. One of them is listed as A.M. Siers with dates. I was wondering if you actually got the dates from a stone or someplace else? I am trying to determine if this is Alfred Morgan Siers. I suspect that it is, since his wife, Rebecca Wine Siers is also buried there. I have been trying to find a death record on him and have not found anything. I just wanted to confirm his death date somehow. He is my 1st cousin, 4x removed. Thanks!!

RE: Hello Cheryl
Hello since we share the same Great Great Grandfather, Henry Clay Frame I was wondering if you knew his ancestors. Here is the information that I have from Dad. Can you add to it or correct anything?

According to "History of Frametown and vicinity" pub 1830, soon after their marriage they were joined by the Bodkin (or Burkin or Botkin) brothers, John Bodkin and Richard Bodkin and Richard's teen bride Elizabeth Hanna. One morning they heard a turkey gobbling and went out to kill it. Failing to find it they separated, continued to hunt and the nameless man saw a bear and fired twice at it. He lost his way and followed Steer Creek thinking it emptied into Elk River; instead he went down the Little Kanawha to Parkersburg, down the Ohio to Point Pleasant and then back to Virginia. James thought the man killed the turkey with the first shot and an Indian killed him with the second. Alarmed, he went back to Augusta Co. There he met the owner of the land and traded him a black mare and flint lock rifle for his claim thereby obtaining all the land on the north side of Elk River between the end of Frametown bridge to Little Kanawah Railroad station. He moved his family here and built a dam and water mill, in 1825 he built the grist and saw mill in Frametown
