A 70 year old Mema searching for my roots. Gilbert, Hartis, Adwell, Wilborn, Roe, Harris, Lightfoot, and Amon are some of the surnames I am researching. Still working part time and the rest of my time is devoted to my family and research.|
Should I post something that you know is wrong, please tell me about it where I can correct it.
The following poem touched my heart. Hope you will like it.
Beyond The Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

Would you have any objections to my using your photo of the above gravestone to illustrate my family tree (with credit of course)?
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in, to allow those of us in other parts of the world to see the last resting places of our relatives.

So good to see my grandfather. The original picture of him in uniform with my grandmother was black and white and clearly wouldn't do them justice. For their aniversary I presented the color photo I color enhanced in school. Grandma told me the dress was actually light blue or green, but she loved it anyway. I'm glad you were able to get hold of it and add it to his memorial. Thank you Katherine, and great job on the family!

Katherine, greetings! Terry here. I wanted to let you know that i just came back from Magnolia Cemetery where i photographed Dollie's (and J. Lester's) grave. I want you to know that this will NOT be the final photo for them (when i post it later tonight). It is heavily calcified and i used an entire cleaning brick and razor blades to clean it. I will go back sometime this weekend w/ more cleaning supplies and do my best to get this marker looking brand new! I didnt want you disappointed in such an awful looking marker on her memorial. Had i had more cleaning bricks i couldve gotten it done today. So this will be a temporary photo until i can take a better one. Sincerely, CemeTerry Photographer
