I live near Lake Tapps, WA with my wife Jamie and two sons. I began constructing my family history after my first son was born so that he would have that available to him later in life. I also wanted to start before anymore of the previous generations passed into history. In that process, I discovered findagrave.com and have made extensive use of it in my project.
Neil Shannon Washington Co PA Hi, My mother's 3x great grandfather was Neil Shannon, d. Doddridge Co, WVa. Neil owned land in and around Washington Co in the 1790s and we have a birth record of his son Gamble Shannon, Fayette Co, PA, in 1795. They both migrated south to Salem, WVa with the Davis family in 1800 or so. (book: Settlers of Salem W.Va) I want to know if anyone has seen Neil's name in relation to the other Shannon families that lived in and around Washington Co, PA at the same time, i.e. James, Samuel, William, and David. Though Neil clearly lived near these families in PA, Neil is not listed in any of the Shannon genealogies I have seen. Has anyone else find a connection between Neil and these other Shannon families? Thanks, Laura
RE: Gene Shannon Thank you so much for your help. Let me know when you get an answer from the sister. It will help us update the Classmate Roll Call. My sympathy goes out to the family. Their father was a very distinguished looking gentleman.
RE: Gene Shannon Thanks. We are planning our 55 yr reunion and trying to either locate or determine what has happened with our schoolmates. We had many military kids going to our school since we are very near Fort Campbell. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Gene Shannon I graduated from Clarksville High School, Clarksville, Tn., in 1960 with a Charles E. Shannon, whom I believe might be your Charles E. Did he live in Clarksville/ Fort Campbell, Ky. during that time?
Was wondering where the picture of this CW grave marker was taken. The Old City Cemetery has not been used since 1862 and is a plain field behind the old Rose Hill Elementary School. So, I was wondering where he is buried.
